I don't think its possible to like football and dislike messi. The amount of times he takes a kicking and just gets on with it. Rarely lashes out. Great ambassador for the game in all respects.

who the fck lays barcelona for 10K @1.01 when they can have exactly the same bet for a fifth the price backing valencia and the draw at 1000?
By:
Difference is, 3rd goes for it and tries. 6th onwards go for a 1-0 loss and take it.
By:
gap between 2nd and rest in spain million miles though
tbf aint valencias fault top2 best in europe by distance |
By:
it would be like that if they were in bpl i think to
By:
the 1-6 wasnt that one sided tbf

Roy, the messi lovefest is closed to mancs tonight i´m afraid matey. I can only suggest you get some genuine humility and re apply in 8 weeks.
By:
unfortunately with Valencia's financial problems the gaps only getting wider
By:
they would be 1 and 2 in EPL or any league

i would like to see Man C against Barca.
By:
man c are a poor team compared to barca and madrid
By:
barca would destroy them
By:
Even if utd where down to 10 for nearly half the game
By:
tough to name many city players who would get in 11 for barca
kompany, silva, maybe hart at push |
By:
If Barca and Real Madrid were in the EPL, they wouldn't get the huge money they do from their TV rights. They also wouldn't have banks throwing them such lovely deals.
By:
ok what about last season when barca beat madrid 5-0 what a game that was im off to watch it now then maybe the 2009 nd 11 champs league final later
By:
barca are a team where the players you have dont really come into effect that much its all about the tactics you deploy. you need to sit back and let them have the ball where they wont hurt you and make sure they have as little space possible in the deadly areas.

barca's DNB price before this game was the same as liverpool's against brighton earlier.
ie, 2nd v 3rd in spain was seen as being as much of a mismatch as 7th vs 29th here. |
By:
And don't forget, great though Barca were, in last year's Champs League they were a Bendtner away from being knocked out of the tournament!

No, don't say that. I don't want you agreeing with me Bob!

Actually, it's okay. I've just realised nobody will realise you were agreeing with me.

Barca are a phenomenon. Messi is the exquisite icing on the cake, but it's a cake that has several very tasty layers underneath it. Iniesta, for example, is a brilliant player who's vital to the team playing its best football. Their brilliance isn't simply down to Messi - although without his finishing touches, they aren't at quite the same level. Barca have also invested pretty well. They'd be a brilliant team at any time, and would always be very hard to dislodge.
Real Madrid, on the other hand, is more down to sheer financial muscle. They've spent a lot of money and are using that force to rip apart a host of pretty but lightweight La Liga teams. |
