I don't think its possible to like football and dislike messi. The amount of times he takes a kicking and just gets on with it. Rarely lashes out. Great ambassador for the game in all respects.

If Barca and Real Madrid were in the EPL, they wouldn't get the huge money they do from their TV rights. They also wouldn't have banks throwing them such lovely deals.

barca are a team where the players you have dont really come into effect that much its all about the tactics you deploy. you need to sit back and let them have the ball where they wont hurt you and make sure they have as little space possible in the deadly areas.

barca's DNB price before this game was the same as liverpool's against brighton earlier.
ie, 2nd v 3rd in spain was seen as being as much of a mismatch as 7th vs 29th here. |

Iniesta, for example, is a brilliant player who's vital to the team playing its best football. Their brilliance isn't simply down to Messi - although without his finishing touches, they aren't at quite the same level. Barca have also invested pretty well. They'd be a brilliant team at any time, and would always be very hard to dislodge.
Real Madrid, on the other hand, is more down to sheer financial muscle. They've spent a lot of money and are using that force to rip apart a host of pretty but lightweight La Liga teams. |
