Saturday 11th February sees 8th place Sunderland host 6th place Arsenal at the stadium of light. The remarkable job Martin O’Neill is doing at Sunderland continued in the week as he guided his side into the 6th round of the FA Cup. Sunderland have lost just one of their last 11 games in all competitions, and have lost just 2 in 13 in under Martin O’Neill.

This has seen Sunderland top the Premier League form table with 6 wins, 1 draw and 1 lose in their last 8 games whereas Arsenal have 3 wins, 2 draws and 3 loses. Sunderland’s home record stands at 5 wins, 4 draws and 3 losses, but they have just one loss in their last 10 home league games. Arsenal’s away record stands at 4 wins, 2 draws and 6 losses, and they are without a win in their last 3 away games.

Taking all this in to account I think the 1.87 available for Sunderland on the asian handicap at + 0.5 with Betfair seems very generous. So if Sunderland win or draw it’s a winning bet.

Team News:

Sunderland:

Loan signings Wayne Bridge and Sotirios Kyrgiakos return to the Sunderland squad.
The former England full-back and the Greece central defender were ineligible for Wednesday's FA Cup fourth-round replay victory at Middlesbrough having not arrived on Wearside in time to be registered, although striker Nicklas Bendtner cannot play against his parent club under the terms of his loan agreement.
Defender Matt Kilgallon has returned to training after an ankle injury, but he is short of match fitness after five games on the sidelines, while Lee Cattermole (hamstring), David Vaughan (ankle), Wes Brown (knee) and Titus Bramble (Achilles/calf) are still out.

Possible Lineups:

                   Mignolet,
Bardsley, O'Shea, Turner, Richardson,
Larsson, Gardner, Colback, McClean,
             Campbell, Sessègnon

Arsenal:

Arsenal could have defender Kieran Gibbs back in the squad after his recovery from groin problems.

Striker Marouane Chamakh has returned from the African Nations Cup, but Gervinho remains away as Ivory Coast prepare for the final.

Defenders Carl Jenkinson (back) and Andre Santos (ankle) are still out, along with midfielders Abou Diaby (hamstring) and Jack Wilshere (ankle). Emmanuel Frimpong has returned from his loan spell at Wolves, but will be out for the rest of the season after needing surgery on his knee.

Possible Lineups:

                          Szczesny,
  Sagna, Mertesacker, Koscielny, Verm'len,
Walcott, Song, Arteta; Ramsey, Chamberlain,
                         Van Persie

Last 6 games (league):

Sunderland:        WWWLWW

Arsenal:        WDLLLW

Prediction: Sunderland 2 – 1 Arsenal

My Pick: Sunderland Win or Draw at 1.87 (13/15)

Outside Bet: Jack Colback to score first at 41 (40/1)

Sorry if I find the idea of someone who makes Arsenal a 7/4 shot to win at Sunderland being the same person who has supposedly made the best part of a million on here a little unbelievable... whilst claiming he is soon going to another exchange where the liquidity is a tiny fraction of what it is here...must be just my suspicious mind I guess...Mischief

Posted quickly enough for me, with no flaws, for me to believe it. Normally, people who post fake stuff, they'll forget what the clock on their pc says and it won't tally with when they say they took the screenshot.

Chop's all tallies with when he asked me how to post a screenshot -- and he doesn't seem like a faker. Obviously, we can never know for sure, but I don't get the billy bullsh1t vibe.

I made my own fake screenshot to prove to someone that it could be done, coz that person was adament that it couldn't (for some, strange rason).

Some people have to win -- and it looks like Chop is one of them. If he'd like to share with me how, I'd be most grateful! Laugh

backing a horse that already crossed the line when you arre 4-7 secs behind is not cheating

Fair enough. Must say speaking as someone who makes a profit but not a huge one, it would make sense to do that if you were able as it would be basically risk free!
Report ch000pin February 10, 2012 11:21 PM GMT
well football is ok in the uk etc etc you are in real time so i wouldnt worry about that and i doubt you bet horses in running,
its never risk free as people on track call early and get it wrong but the best will win and pay the betfair pimps 40-60%

And if you've made that much money that pc is (or soon will be) an issue, why on earth can't you get some mates to get bets on for you instead? Heck, I'd be happy to do it for you myself if that is really the case Mischief
Report Rosie47 February 10, 2012 11:23 PM GMT

Report ch000pin February 10, 2012 11:24 PM GMT
you can make risk free money all day long if you can get enough bookies accounts.
to be honest since last year i have changed how i bet and am mostly purple i can get on like i said dont bet massive so its np you dont need to bet big to win big you just need to be consistent.

Well, a quick calculation from those figures would mean you win well over a grand a week, can't see how you would get that from small stakes unless you do literally hundreds of bets each day!
Report ch000pin February 10, 2012 11:29 PM GMT
to be honest the best Arsenal 11 wouldnt be odds on against many teams in this league, Arsenal have a lot to prove if they are to challenge for top4 and the next 6 games will tell us the whole story rosie is right that without the full backs the form is almost worthless untill they get a settled 11 as they did play ok when they had 2 full backs in fact it all went wrong for them when sagna came off against spurs at 1-1

plus i have been so impressed with sunderland since the irish one took over they have played with great energy pace and belief and they could have beat chelsea as well as city.
Report tobermory February 10, 2012 11:40 PM GMT
People getting carried away with Sunderland's recent form i think.

Everytime i've seen them lately, every shot flies in the top corner, don't think they are playing teams off the pitch. Can't see them sustaining it. Sessengong looks a very good player and could walk into most sides but still predominantly a journeyman team

I expect they'll finish bottom half still.

Though i could be wrong .

Report Rosie47 February 10, 2012 11:41 PM GMT
You see, that doesn't make sense, in a previous post, you say they should be 7/4 in your book. But with the price at 2.12 (miles shorter than your tissue) you claim it a "def no bet game"

For a professional gambler, with all due respect, that is nonsensical.

No offence btw.

If you only bet on 10 games per year you should lay arsenal.

If you made a dog or a horse 7/4 and it was 11/10 you'd be laying it all day long, why is a football team any different? As a pro, you would lay them, not even debatable.

I don't profess to be a professional or anything like it, but if I see something which I make 7/4 trading at 11/10 I'm placing a huge lay as would virtually anyone. She had been 3 grades better and was spot on out of season i think she was a45 class anyways she was in a a7 in trap 1 with a fast starter in trap 2 who moved off at the bnd also it was winter
and in the first race 730 i knew the track would have a massive inside bias, opened the post and it was 8-1 so my people got as much on as we could the bookie opened it 8s and i was putting up 5ers and tenners on here at 10s just to make sure nobody would shorten it up at the track.
It led out of the boxes 2 turned right and it won by 8 lgns.when i spoke to the bookie friend RIP
