Siena host Napoli for the semi final of the Coppa Italia we both teams playing for a final against Italian giants Juventus or AC Milan. Both teams have been struggling in the league recently, Siena have just one win, 2 draws and 5 losses in their last 8 league games. Napoli have just the 2 wins, 4 draws and 2 losses in their last 8 league games.

Siena find themselves 17th in the league but there home form is not appalling with 4 wins, 3 draws and 3 losses. Napoli have the 5th best away record in Serie A with 3 wins, 5 draws and 3 losses. Recent head to head meetings between the two have seen 2 wins for Napoli, 2 draws and one win Siena.

Napoli sit in seventh place in Serie A with 31 points from seven wins, 10 draws and five losses. Siena sit 17th in the table with 20 points from four wins, eight draws and nine losses which sees them just three ahead of the relegation zone above Lecce.

Despite this Siena has one of the best defensive records in the league as they conceded just 22 goals in their 21 games, which is fifth best in the league. The problem is they’ve scored only 21 goals, which is the sixth lowest total in Serie A. Napoli, on the other hand, have conceded 36 goals but have scored 31.

Im going to back the draw in this one, and expect Napoli to progress when the host Siena at Stadio San Paolo.

Team News:

Siena:

Siena manager Giuseppe Sannino will have to do without the services of regular goalkeeper Zeljko Brkic since the Serbian international is out of action for at least another week after having surgery on his groin. It also looks like Francesco Bolzoni won’t be playing either as he also has a nagging groin injury.

Napoli:

Napoli manager Walter Mazzarri has a relatively healthy squad to choose from, but there could be a few changes to the team that played to a draw against AC Milan in last Sunday’s league game. Goran Pandev could take over up front from Ezequiel Lavezzi while Dokhan Inler and Andrea Dossena could replace Blerim Dzemaili and Juan Zuniga in the midfield.

Last 6 Games (league):

Siena:        DLDLWD

Napoli:            DDLDDW

Prediction: Siena 0 - 0 Napoli

My Pick: Draw at 3.25 at (9/4)

Outside Bet: No Goalscorer at 9 (8/1)

Gone with the 0-0 to trade, think it's better value than unders. Also DNB Napoli.

just hate napoli nowadays... they lack motivation against smaller teams to great extent. Knwoing Siena coach he would want this vry very badly... they'll look for a 1-0 win but ET likely here imo

Siena a tough nut at home ... Napoli unpredictable but nearly always capable of scoring. Under 2.5 @ 1.75 actually looks decent - rare for me to back at odds on. Napoli should not be short of motivation in a semi so I expect a replication of their recent 1-1 meeting - both teams to score seems fair - I will put in a bet at 2.1 and hope to get matched in running.  Backing pre match correct score at 0-0 and 1-1 (9.6 & 7.4) respectively should give us trade out opportunities.
NB I wouldn't recommend trading all these positions ... just taking one view depending on what your bag is.... good luck all
