Employing a 60 something Italian authoritarian to manage a bunch of English chavs was never going to work. England need someone who will understand the players, not be pally with them but get them onside and get them believing in him. I think with Capello there was too much of a culture clash and his ways were a bit dated for this era of unprofessionalism.
Spain, Netherlands and Germany are quite a bit ahead of the rest in terms of this summer, but there is no reason why England cannot compete with the likes of France, Portugal or Italy - if we get the chavs working (or someone who will get rid of them) then we may actually do something positive this summer.
