CB Fry is in the mix.  Played for England at both football and cricket, scored 94 first class centuries including 6 consecutively, a record which is still unmatched 110 years later. Also played rugby for the Barbarians, equalled the world long jump record and he could leap backwards onto a mantelpiece from a stationary position. Jim Thorpe also worth a shout, another who excelled at more than one sport. These one sport wonders like Nadal, Jordan etc dont know they're born.

Jordan's baseball career was nothing to write home about and more importantly, could he jump bckwards onto a mantelpiece from a stationary position?

Also, what's money got to do with it? The question was "greatest sportsman", not "best brand" or "most successful marketing" or "highest earnings".

but he wasnt one sport wonder if he would practise baseball he would be top player as he was great in college

and in terms of profesionalizm 40ies and 90ies have no comparison, so its not possible to practise 2 pro sports , nowadays
