you see, the objection to mcgovern isn't that he's always wrong - amusing though it is when he hits a particularly bad run. it's just that he epitomises the smug mediocrity of the media old boy network. he's a guesser with a load of (mostly very old) jokes, and somehow this entitles him to a very well paid job. that pretty much anyone could do just as well for a tenth of the money.
