turtleshead the restrictions that are likely to come in will mean that remote operators based overseas will have to comply with regulations that apply to UK businesses. These are not so much designed to increase security rather to protect UK businesses from "unfair" competition.

Most other countries already do this to a far stricter degree than UK. Some go as far as banning all overseas gambling websites.

Barrabrava is right in what he says. All bookmakers have certain reporting requirements as conditions of their licence.

Just see turtleshead as a Cashier in a Betting Shop:

Dodgy bloke walks in - sticks 2k in used notes in FOBT, spins £1 on black and prints ticket off.

TH pays him out with nice fresh 20's and does not question at all why the geezer did what he did.
Pillock.

Be doing a lot of people a favour banning a lot of firms from offering bets to UK Customers would this Government.

Would not be a daft idea to make them all be based in England as well if they want to offer bets to English based customers online ( I don't mean Gib either) as jobs are leaving English soil more and more due to these tax laws.

Another mess from Labour.

They will make it so that you might as well be based over here.

If they get the final piece of the jigsaw in ie taxing at the point of consumption then it will actually be a hindrance not to be in the UK.

That right banks.

That would be a pretty major thing though wouldn't it?
By:

It would and I guess that they will see how the licensing goes first.

On the flip side though the protectionism offered by other countries such as France to their own businesses is immense. The UK would only be catching up with them.

The whole issue of Gib, Malta etc is a bit of a nonsense really. Most forms there are UK firms in all but name.

Actually there are shops near me where you could do EXACTLY that, barra, (or very simmilar) the staff couldn't give a stuff so long as you dont try to get £50 on a football team which has shortened from evens to 10/11. I don't doubt for a minute that this applies elsewhere in the country. I don't really see why this requires name calling from you, I expect it from madlung because he is a moron who has a grudge against me.

Where did I mention that I would do that, out of interest?

Because you seem to think you know everything about everything connected with gambling and if anyone has different view then we get the "i have been gambling over 20 years and always show a profit so there" line.

I don't care how much you make or if you are right or wrong - just be capable of a decent debate at times.

That info provided by banks is very interesting to read and it makes a lot of sense the points it makes. I think in New Zealand you can only bet with the TAB - pretty good, obviously lack of price/market competition but at least money is not leaving New Zealand like it is here every minute of the day to firms who are basically unregulated and have no interest in the Customer or Sports they are taking bets on.

I don't think I know everything from gambling, far from it. Where did I say I had?

As far as mentioning I've been betting for 20 years and shown a profit, I can only recall saying it a few times, usually when some mug has a go at me over a tip which I've given out that has lost, like the villa one at man city. Again if you can point to another instance, feel free Plain

And I'm perfectly capable of a decent debate, I have done so on many occasions.

I don't know what I've done to annoy you, tbh.

Some bookmakers won't let you deposit now until you have produce ID etc. Its like anything if you don't like it vote with you feet and don't use them!!!!

Your cocky lines on the Tamworth v Newport thread were enough for me to form an opinion about you.

"You are a ramper"

"I laid the "fix""

All cocky attention seeking behaviour in my view. You did it again before with your humiliating comment that people need to provide ID in order to get a bet on in shops. You appear to have no forward thinking and just dive in with the first thing that enters your head.

You still ain't replied to my question about people needing to provide ID etc.... for there new accounts for Grand National winnings.

Ah, so that match is what this is all about.

I'd never seen you on here before, and suddenly you appear with supposed "info" on a dodgy game. This has happened on dozens, in fact probably hundreds of occasions previously, and is (almost without exception) designed to drive down the price of an outcome by making people think that they are betting on a fixed event, so that the originator of the thread can lay off for profit. Same as next manager markets for that matter. So yes, I do get a bit annoyed when that happens. Nothing whatsoever to do with "cocky attention seeking behaviour", actually. If it wasn't your intention to do this, fair enough. But in my experience (am I allowed to say 20 years without looking arrogant Laugh) 99%+ of the time it is. Hence my response.

Out of interest, if you think so little of me, why did you try to add me as a contact Confused
By:

When: 23 Jan 11 21:48
Because I was attempting to have a conversation with you about it but all you seemed to be able to say to me was "I laid a fix".

I had over 200 posts when I said that - a quick search of my username would have simply put your theories to bed. Some of us do not live on here, you were saying "I have never seen you before" etc... A simple search was all you needed to do but yet again you jumped in head first and did not do any research at all.

Still no reply to my question posed 45 minutes ago as well.
By:

By the way it as not info - it was common knowledge between many people that these bets were going around. It was on various Football forums from midday.

It was not a very well kept secret if it was meant to be a fix.

Oh yes and you reckoned Betfair have live pictures of every football they cover in running, which as anyone who has worked in punting will know (especially football) is absolute garbage.
By:

When: 23 Jan 11 22:01
Okay, fair enough, I got it wrong. Like I said in 99% of cases I would have been correct. And not every one of them has zero posts before attempting the scam. I'm still facinated to discover why you wanted to add me as a contact based on this conversation where I accused you of ramping Laugh

I'm not sure which question I am supposed to answer - you claim 45 mins ago - the post made at 21.05 doesn't appear to have one - please clarify and I'll be happy to.

Can we call a truce yet - I don't believe in bearing grudges in general.

With regards to the live pictures of all football games, if they don't have people watching them, how on earth would they be able to suspend in time?
By:

When: 23 Jan 11 22:09
Running ball/safe control - other scouts etc... Look at bet 365 now - do you think they have pictures for every match on there, they don't. Stacks of matches are traded now without pictures - it may sound odd to you but this is the truth.

All the best anyway, you have worn me down.

I'm with the OP on this

Firms should warn you before you deposit money that you will have to show passport etc in order to use your account
I deposited money with spoilsports on a credit card - they suspended my account until i sent passport details in - i said that i have to be 18 to have a credit card so whats your problem ! Obviously that made no difference
Its been easier recently to get a mortgage than bet with some firms

Paddies still have i think £300 of mine (they suspended my account 12 months ago so i cant even check the balance) I think its an absolute fcukin con - i cant get my £300 back unless i send my passport in, a copy of the credit card and some other boll0x

I asked for the withdrawal to go back in my account so i knew where it was and they done it no bother and im still allowed to bet.So this is fair yeah i can bet but cant withdraw.I could be underage but they dont care about me betting but wont give me my winnings.

There are some compliments here about this firm .

Here is a different slant.

Recently my son aged 26 decided he had a problem with gambling ( he did have ). He had a number of accounts across the market having taken advantage of free bet offers etc. He contacted them all to self exclude .No problem swiftly done , including here  on BF except the firm involved in this thread. They were extremely obstructive to his self exclusion which took a number of HOURS to achieve.

This is after all the sh1t i spoke to them

Connection resumed.
Jay: Please try to make the withdrawal again.
me: i can see it now and made it
me: can you finilize at your end

Jay: Let me check on that.
me: thanks
Jay: Thanks for waiting. The withdrawal has now been released.
Jay: Would like to proceed now with account closure?
me: thanks will i be logged out or can i check my bets
me: i will keep open and see how bets go
me: if this is ok
Jay: Should you want to keep your account open, I want to confirm if you are comfortable with the level of your gambling and takes responsibility for the transactions on your account, please?
me: yes i will take responsible and bet only what i can afford
Jay: Okay. Your account remains open as requested. However, should you need assistance, please don't hesitate to contact us so we can assist you immediately.
