in a lot of PL games you don't need 2 holding midfielders that just sit, so it gives the team another attacking option having Gerrard playing a more traditional CM but bursting forward with Cole behind Torres. The worry is in those games against better teams Gerrard needs to be more disciplined if hes playing a more traditional CM.
