Report I AM KNEW HERE August 3, 2010 8:47 AM BST
I know :-). Btw for the whole of prem 92-now, Man City are now the biggest spenders, Can you guess the other top 5?
Report martin_593114 August 3, 2010 8:47 AM BST
me too i hope ours is still the same Cry
Report Regular Fries August 3, 2010 8:48 AM BST
spenders since 92?

Chelsea, United, Spurs, Villa, Liverpool?
Report Regular Fries August 3, 2010 8:50 AM BST
perhaps Newcastle are up there as well?

I should remember to be honest, you can only go a few months without seeing the net spend on here
Report I AM KNEW HERE August 3, 2010 9:23 AM BST
Oi its been a year or so!!!

top 5 are

City, Chelsea, Liverpool, Spurs and then Villa

Is there a figure that includes net assets ie if Liverpool were to sell Torres, Gerrard, Reina and Mascherano they could raise at least £115m imo for a spend of £45m?
Report sintonian August 3, 2010 9:37 AM BST
Not unless someone wants to produce one for all the other clubs aswell. i.e Arsenal net assets if they were to sell Cesc,RvP,Vermaelen,Clichy and so on..
Report I AM KNEW HERE August 3, 2010 9:37 AM BST
ours4keeps, very difficult to work that out. I suppose the best way is to get the clubs 'insurance' value on these players...
Report martin_593114 August 3, 2010 9:41 AM BST
ours4keeps is panicking because liverpool will be shown up for the big spending small achievers they really are Laugh
Report I AM KNEW HERE August 3, 2010 9:47 AM BST
I cant see much change to be fair on Liverpool! or Newcastle :-)

so far this season Newcastle -£1m
Pool +6.3m
Report martin_593114 August 3, 2010 9:48 AM BST
they'll probs drop down to third now that city have spent so big
Report ours4keeps August 3, 2010 10:00 AM BST
why would I panic Laugh

It's just a more illustrative guide. Utd's figures will be massively affected by the sale of Ronaldo so the value of a team's top players while still at the club has a massive bearing. I imagine Chelsea's won't look so good because they haven't renewed their squad and a lot of their big players are the wrong side of 30 and their value will be relatively low.

Is this the Net Fees and Wages Spend Table (which is relevant) or the Net Fees Table (which is next to useless)?
Report ours4keeps August 3, 2010 10:15 AM BST
True again - wages are a huge factor especially with all the bosmans lately.
Report Daveyboymoyes August 3, 2010 10:24 AM BST
My guess is that it will be the How Can I Make Wenger Look Like A Miracle Worker Table [;)]
Report Mighty Whites 2008 August 3, 2010 10:28 AM BST
the biggest 5 spenders

city, chelsea, liverpool, man utd, arsenal
Report I AM KNEW HERE August 3, 2010 10:32 AM BST
Max and Paddy those figures are difficult to get. Clubs report them in different ways.
Report bornisthekingofSB August 3, 2010 10:34 AM BST
can we have net spending from aug 74 till 1978 please
Report HHG August 3, 2010 10:38 AM BST
actually spending on players has very little correlation with finishing postions....however total wage spend correlates very closely to finishing postions.

Of course a huge net spend on players means that for most clubs that impacts on the wages they can afford to pay
Report Max and Paddy August 3, 2010 10:39 AM BST
Every time your club signs someone, it's an undisclosed fee - so how much more fúcking difficult can it be?!

Or could it be the fact that Arsenal spaff away loads of money on wages that makes you reluctant to do that table?

Report I AM KNEW HERE August 3, 2010 10:45 AM BST
Again Max i told you that after Arsenal got caught doing dodgy wage payments through foriegn islands they changed they way they report the wages. Other clubs still dont.
And again you are allowed to do a Net wage table.

HHG - maybe/ i havent looked into it.
Report I AM KNEW HERE August 3, 2010 10:45 AM BST
DavidBoyMoyes

it has nothing to do with that, Wenger hasnt won anything for 5 years, dont matter about the net spend, he has failed.
Report HHG August 3, 2010 10:52 AM BST
so winning the league cup and finishing 10th would be ok?
Report Max and Paddy August 3, 2010 12:27 PM BST
NET WAGE TABLE.
