Friendly matches are commonly accepted as 'no bet' material by the Pullein family on here. I do agree with you r general point that there may be money to be made with a bit of research.

I totally agree with you, I never bet on them but Man City are 2/1 looked too short when the line ups came out, and I went to the Liverpool game so it was a bit of added excitment and lucky enough both paid off.

I've not really looked too mch at the baseball so not too sure myself but I shall let you know as soon as I decide and get matched.

It's a very annoying thing, team loyalty.  I've seen 4 of the 5 pre-season games we've played live and stayed up till 4am to listen to the other on Portland radio.  I have seen absolutely nothing to justify us being 2-1 against the European champions yesterday (backed in to around 6-4 at kickoff).  None of the new signings were in America (bar Yaya) and Mancini had to go home for family reasons.

I would have layed it to the max... if I weren't a totally biased fan.  instead I shoved #20 on us to win, and hated myself as I pressed submit.

No aftertiming at all, I said yesterday in the Man City game I was laying Man City, I also then told Paddee I was laying Liverpool as I was flying to Germany to watch the game, and I did that.

Why did you go to Germany by the way?

Ah bad times, I was going to lay Leicester yesterday too, 21/10 but talked myself out of it for some reason. I seemed to have made out in my head we could beat Sunderland, although in fairness we were not all that bad.

The big problem with fan loyalty is backing your team each week, even if it is onnly a few quid, it all mounts up, and each time you do it you know its stupid. The year we went down to league 1 I backed us to win the league....oops haha

Onions - the season we finished fourth, I had the biggest bet of my life on us to be relegated at 11/2

I backed Leicester 3-1, Chopra first scorer in our play off game, if the lineo wasn't blind and saw he was offside it would have been the best bet ever lol.

I might lay us every week, can see us being a short price at home every other week, and well, I won't mind losing a few quid each time

I think Leeds and Forest are going to be stupidly short at home in every other week this season in your league.

I'm not sure about Leeds, keep in mind they flopped twice in league 1. I agree good at home, but away I think they will struggle.

I've tried the oppose City so I can't lose either way theory.

Problem is if you put enough on it you really want the other team to win.  If you don't put enough on it, why bother?

Even if you think your team's win odds are no value, there is always a more palatable betting option (players to score, corners, bookings etc).  My judas betting days are over.

The amount I lost was "enough"! I had a decent bet beforehand, but then (after getting on it at 12.30pm) I kept topping up through the game.

It's fair to say that you might want to lose a derby for £10k, for example, but short of backing them at 200 or something silly like that I'd never stake enough to win that much when we're playing them.

I wasn't there so don't really know, but according to the commentators we were amazing in the first half.

DJ missed two sitters inside 6 yards, same with Morrison twice and Howard missed a free header. Minus not being able to finish we sounded like we were making a lot of chances.

2nd half we died off, goalkeeping mistake cost us, but they should have made it 3-1, Campbell and Bent vs Weale, and they blazed it over the bar.

Ok ta, saw King's goal on SSN but was out most of Saturday.

I did't know they were showing it on tele, not seen it yet either lol.

my biggest win was over a year ago when I layed the Denver Nuggets at home pre-match at 1.03... I just knew they would lose that day (against Oklahoma it was I think). the odds were ridiculous.

Nice. I tend to lay ovber 1.85 or so, if there is 110 points in the first half, because the game always seems to tighten up, and the makrt reaction is nuts.

Think my biggest win, minus my very lucky Placepot £5 got me £6,000 was on NFL, but I did risk £3,000. Nearly died watching the game lol
