Is Doyle definitely on bench. Wolves forums suggesting he got injured in warm-up...
Yep, that's pretty much the team who will start vs Stoke in 2 weeks. An interesting match for both teams imo. I'd be more inclined to lay Wolves than back us tho.

wolves to be relegated, last seasons prem was the worst ever with Hull and Burnley and Pompey points deduction and shenanigans.
Under the second season syndrome and a side that has not got any better these are a good punt for relegation.

Basing your thought on a friendly two weeks before season
Oh dear!!!
Blackpool and westbrom occupy two places we only have to come above one of Wigan Bolton fulham Birmingham west ham Blackburn Stoke or Newcastle to survive
By way try judging us when Doyle hahnemann start as well

I'm sure the likes of unknown spanish international, myhill, Roberts or Beattie will help you survive
No offence honey bunny Albion are good on their day but they not physically or mentally tough enough to grind out results like us

I usually have a punt on the back of friendlys like getting 80/1 on Scunthorpe winning league 1, four years ago for a nice four figure result after wopping Leeds and Spurs in pre season.
Blackpool could be a surprise like Hull were and West Brom could well stay up, I am a layer of both those for relegation. Just looked at the prices again and they are about correct you are 4th favs for the drop.
Btw, will Doyle be at Wolves in Jan or even August?

Going nowhere till next summer minimum
does he have a clause in his contract that lets him go on the cheap on the back of relegation. Might be a good signing for Leeds next summer.

TBH - today didn't really teach us much that we didn't know about Wolves already... Hennessey not really that good, so we are reliant on USA between the sticks. Van Damme will need time to settle into the English game, as did Zubar 12 months ago. We still have Hunt, Kightly and Mouyokolo to come into the team. And SEB still can't score for toffee!! Any injuries to the likes of Doyle will really leave us in the sh1t.
Will be interesting how long Mick sticks with 4-4-2 with the new signings. We had to move to 4-5-1 last season to grind out results. Will we be able to push on and play a bit more football this time? I would guess we'll mix it up more than we were able to last season.
Wolves will be in a relegation scrap for the majority of the season, I don't think there's a Wolves fan out there who expects otherwise. Our odds are probably just about right - 4th favs. Blackpool can pretty much be discounted. But then there probably aren't huge differences between West Brom, Wolves, Wigan, Newcastle, Bolton and maybe Stoke and the Hammers. All of whom will be scrapping for points along the way. Our target is to finish the highest out of that bunch of teams and ensure at least 2 of them are below us, or 3 if Blackpool beat expectations.
We all hope that the scrap will be over with a few games to go - as a result of being safe rather than doomed by the time we play the Baggies in our next to last home game!
Our squad IS improved, on paper, on what we had last season, plus they also now have some experience in the top flight, most of our new signings are experienced in the PL too, which will help a little. This time last year there was only Doyle, USA and Craddock with much in the way of PL experience.
As for going on about the worst PL ever last season. If that was the case, which is debatable, we still finished 15th in that division. We didn't scrape by surviving by the skin of our teeth and just have the 3 worst teams of all time below us. There were 5 teams worse than us last year. But don't let facts get in the way!
As I said pre kick-off, I couldn't be backing Wolves today, the result wasn't that much of a surprise. The bottom end of the PL isn't that much better than the upper reaches of the Championship, which is where Leeds will expect to be in 9 months! Best of luck to them next season. For all the banter with Leeds fans, I'd rather be playing Leeds in the PL next season than have a trip to the likes of Wigan.

Whilst I am never going to get back the next two minutes of my life typing this out, do tell us why you think Albion aren't physically strong enough for the PL? Have you seen the size of our centre-backs this season?
And why are we "living in 2006"? We got relegated that year :-D

Peaces - I think it's more your midfield that looks a bit limited physically. Also, there seem to be a lot of forwards in the squad but none that you'd be confident will actually be any good. I didn't understand the summer obsession with finding a new goalkeeper when it was clear that other positions needed strengthening as more of a priority.
As for Tiny Dave's 2006 comment, he just got unlucky guessing 2006...if he'd picked any year in the last decade he wasn't big odds against to pick a relegation year was he!
How would you price a match bet us against you?
