Where do you get the handicap picks?
By:
I was all set to do the following, with no handicap, but the handicap looks good there
for the record, I've picked a 25cen each way lucky 31 Man city @ 5/1 Forest 15/2 peterboro 10/1 torquay 25/1 York 12/1 .25 stake costs 7.75 and returns 75,410 with paddy power....ah the optimism also going for an ew patent(long shots) for top scorer Beckford @ 80/1 earnshaw 16/1 stokes at 7/2 |

Crewe 28/1

Right am i seeing this correctly in the premeir league say you wanted to back chelsea normally you would probably get 6s but for the handicap of 0 you can back them @ 16s? Surely that cant be correct
By:
yes but every other team gets their handicap added to their totals
By:
I want to know who's laying Chelsea at 6s for the title!
By:
Chelsea at 6s is more believable than the lack of
's I got for my web address joke before imo |
By:
Right then im thinking of a yankee
Newcastle +40 @ 16s Pompey +12 @ 19s Charlton +13 @ 19s Crewe +12 @ 19s What would the difference be between each way lucky 15 and a normal lucky 15? |
By:
I must say I chuckled at that one! It's certainly funnier than the prospect of my alarm clock going off at 7.05am
![]() Goodnight all. |
By:
Ah thanks for that marychain
Maybe there not a good bet then |
By:
1 pound ew lucky 15 will cost you thirty instead of 15 if thats your question
By:
Night M&P
MMisa, without wanting to be facetious, I'd say that the first one would be each way. |
By:
Yeah i understand that, i mean whats the difference? Is it just extra money returned, as E/W is usually on horses places, where as on a lucky 15 you have doubles singles etc so is it just like putting £2 on each instead of £1
By:
yeah, but you can do an ew lucky 15 on the horses as well. in fotball, its probably 1/2 the odds for 2nd place in prem league, and 1/3 odds top three places in the other divisions, but diff ookies have differant rules. verify when doing the bet, as I've just checked Paddy Power's site and the info is differant from their phone betting!!!
By:
Thanks Den sounds like a good e/w bet then

By:
no probs MM.i DON'T KNOW IF EW WILL BE POSSIBLE WITH THE HNDICAP BETTING THOUGH.
WHO YOU GOING FOR? |
By:

By:
miz - what checker page? cheers
By:
Im going for these den
Newcastle +40 @ 16s Pompey +12 @ 19s Charlton +13 @ 19s Crewe +12 @ 19s E/w and a normal, lucky 15 as well My first season properly betting this year only started half way through the last |

Right just before i place it, i take it at the end of the season they add everyones handicap on yeah and not just your teams
By:
Yep all teams get there league points plus the handicap added, highest overall wins
By:
Most bookmakers are paying first 4 in the handicap betting
You are guaranteed a small profit even if you only get 2 places £1 ew lucky15 pays at least £36 with 2 places £241 with 3 places £1578 with 4 places Then your returns go up the more winners you pick! This really is the best ante-post bet around for the soccer student to pit their wits against the old enemy imo |
By:
i have never done a bet like this before...i just usually do a league winners bet
i am really interested in trying this bet for the first time but i really dont know how i should pick my selections.... any tips/thought for the new lad??!! |
By:
Its all about selecting teams you think will do better than the bookmakers think.
For example the Handicap Premiership winners over the last 2 seasons have been 2009 Stoke 2010 Birmingham Whilst the Championship and Division 2 Handicaps winners last season were the runaway League winners Newcastle and Notts Co respectively. (Division 1 was won by Swindon). It pays to look at bookmakers lists. (I'll use Laddies and Bl Sq to highlight examples) Of those posted already the points spread on the Championship is narrower with Bl Sq than Laddies. So if you think one of the favourites will do well, then bet them with Bl Sq, on the other hand the outsiders to win the league would be a beter bet with Laddies on the Handicap. There are 20 teams handicapped by Laddies that have a bigger head handicap than with BL Sq, the best of which is Ipsich with 6 extra. If you fancy Middlesbor, Forest, Bristol C or Derby then you bet them with Bl Sq. So work down all 4 divisions, select the 4 teams youy think will do better than the bookmakers think, seek out the best handicaps, get your bet on and enjoy. ![]() ![]() |

A few more bookmakers up with their spreads now

And - BOTH BETS CAN WIN!! ![]() ![]() |
