only pre-match Yeah, it makes sense pre-match. Just the yield doesn't seem to be worth it unless you're willing to lump on big size... which means you need to find someone who is willing to match it in order to profit or limit a loss. |

Oh, I see, blame the broker for your losses.[;)]

Need to blame someone.
So what's your decision with regards your betting? |

Gonna test another idea I had that doesn't hurt so much if a goal is scored. Problem with forward-testing is getting a decent sample size before you run out of money.

Perversely, I hope that I lose so I can see what problems I come up against before I think about going big.

"I should probably start laying more teams too, as i always just go for who i fancy to win, and have never backed a draw before lol. Tbh i can't remember the last time the taem i backed got beat, it's always just draws letting me down."
Maybe look at draw no bet and asian handicaps then? You might turn a loss into a profit if a lot of your bets would have been a push. I agree about always backing singles though I'd say (almost) never take a profit when a profit can be guaranteed. That's because I prefer to let all my bets run their course. It's hard enough to spot value before a game starts without trying to spot it in running. I appreciate that skilled traders will disagree though. I prefer to price markets up myself and then see if I can get better than what I feel is the "true" price. I'm happy to place bets that I don't fancy at all if I'm confident the price is wrong. |

EMMERSON i have a strategy, but i tell you, then thousands will find out the strategy and then i wont have any strategy LOL
I dont really think anyone is going to share a their own moneymaking strategy. If they give it to you its either 1) not a great strategy (they aint made much money from it) 2) a different strategy suggestion to what they use themselves. you have to find your own strategy. Experiments with different type of markets from different sports and you probably find a decent strategy. But even then its tough to make money in the long run . you need some knowledge but also luck |

I'm crap at trading - standard in-play 1X2 bets work best for me. To echo what others said, never chase your losses and try to keep your composure. whenever I had a big loss, it's always due to bad psychology, trying to chase.
|
|
By:
yeah you need keep compsure, discipline & not chase
ALL THE ABOVE I DONT HAVE. some people are good at it, most arent im in the former group. ive been betting for 13 year, still cant do the right things |

The bookies make money from laying favourites. If you can do that successfully then you could make some good money.

My tip would be to bet against teams you don't like, be they local rivals, Scottish teams, teams in the Israeli first division... take your pick and stick to your principles.
