'Pool looking rather lean down the left side now with the likely departure of Riera to follow Aurelio & Insua...i suggest Wigan's Charles N'Zogbia would be a good aquisition to the squad.

Yeh,thats what i think,looks more natural to him being more forward.Think we will see him in that role more often,especially with the injurys that Cole and Aqualani seem to suffer.

You need to keep Lucas at Liverpool as he's awesome, simply awesome. You need to build your team around Lucas, maybe bring in Ebanks Blake as a link player for him as that would be devestating down the middle.

I like him Goretski. Think he is a very solid, dependable player who doesnt make many mistakes now. Glad to have him in the squad. Would look a top player in say the Arsenal side who favour lots of short balls which he is good at. I think he's better than Denilson for example.

As daft as it sounds, Gerrard could learn a thing or two from him. Keeping the ball is key, and Lucas is one of our best in that dept.

Cant have him at all CCM and have to disagree, wouldnt look a top player in any side TBH, imo opionion of course. Lacks positional awareness, actually lacks awareness in general (i've lost count the amout of times ive seen him caught on the ball) cant make a pass more than 10 yards, shocking at supporting the play , doesnt move the ball quickly enough (the amount of time ive seen him slow down counter attacks is unreal) all in all a poor mans mascherano. Yes you need one holding midfielder, but two? and of the same ilk, na not for me. which is another reason why rafa played two holding midfielders,because he didnt trust lucas in the first place and then he was just be stubborn cause everyone realised how brutal he was, or is. imo

Players often split opinion and non moreso than this one, for me te best thing liverpol could do would be to sell Macsherano if they could get 30mill or more, and and put a package together for milner and warnock, 20 mill plus babel or someting simmillar, Lucas could do the holding midfield role with ease, as long as e was shrounded with the likes of aquillani, gerrard cole, milner and oter suc players, he is youn enough and improving, imo

Goretski. I dont think he is that well suited to our formation. Think he is more of a central midfielder in a 4-4-2.

He's too limited when playing alongside Masch and not a holding midfielder when he plays alongside someone like SG.

As I said, I think he's better than the likes of Denilson and he fits in to the Arsenal midfield Ok. FWIW, he wouldnt be in my starting XI if we keep everyone we have, but I still like him.

He has shown ability when he has advanced further up front on very limited occassions, he was highly rated back in brazil as a youngster and has often been a bit of a scape goat for the fans and media, but I honestly believe he is a bit of a slow learner, and could well be like darren fletcher was at united derided by the fans and media, and then 4 seasons later lauded as uniteds big game player time will tell

I think he could be,looked ok one of the few times he played further forward.Maybe he is better in that position.Would not be the only mistake Rafa made.

But the only thing about it is that 4-4-2 is now a dated system but going back to when it was in use Utd used it to great effect with Keane and Scholes even we used it to a certain extent with Xabi and Masch although i wouldnt exactly but xabi in the same bracket as Scholes but i just dont think lucas has the capabilities,only time will tell, be interesting to see what hodgsons take on him and the formation will be

Lucas is Not a holding midfielder, never has been he is an attacking central midfielder. I personally think he has been rubbish but, to be fair to the lad he has been played out of position (shock horror) by Rafa. If Rafa had stayed then I would have said get rid pronto, but if Roy gives him a chance in a more natural role then we have to give him some time to see what he can do. Surely we owe him that for taking Brazil's great white hope of his generation and turning him into salif diao!

there is nothing between Lucas & Denilson. They are both very average. The only thing they have on their side is time.

Denilson could be also turn out to be a Darren Fletcher, he certainly has the stamina for 90 minutes of kicking. But you dont really expect Brazilian players to develop like that do you?

Not sure who let him go to be honest, but we need a left back and he has prem experience, can get forward loves a tackle, could do a job imo, as for Lucas I still think he can improve, even when in brazil e was seen as a differing type less flair more in the mould of the ex national manager, some players explode on te scene and then fade some start slowly and then flourish, look at uniteds brazillian midfielder the one who looks like that bird from shameless

What do we think of the possibility of losing Mascherano? Personally if we can get silly money i aint too bothered,good player but i am pretty confident he can be suitably replaced for a lot less than we would get for him.

I'd like Ireland but think he's a bit similar to Gerrard, Aquillani and Cole so not sure how we'd accomodate him.
Raul is going to want a fortune in wages and you're not getting Milner for less than £25m now that City are involved so no value there.
