funny, i've been r*ped on scottish fitba this month

that loss on celtic, and i tied up most of my bank on the abandoned rangers game last weekend which cost me a whole sundays betting

you'd think i'd learn... but nah, where would the fun be in that?

After feckin about all day from being £250 up, then £100 down, then £70 up, thanks to standard I am exactly - £0.21, with a $10 refund to come from BF. Dunno why I bother sometimes.

McChicken , i first started betting on the tennis when i joined BF erroneously thinking it was easy pickings with all the price shifting ,so considered footie a safer option because of the SUSPEND bar and the various correct scores.

I found tennis was a bit satuated with the one main market unless it was a major tounament.

I might try my luck with the aussie open .

like me ,you might have found footie and tennis too much anyway ...need a break from here sometimes :)


btw ..my lifetime a/c shows a loss on the tennis

I just don't like the amount of luck I associate with football........

It feels too reliant on some dope of a striker finishing a simple chance etc etc.

Tennis I feel it's less of an element.

And trading wise it's just about entry points and knowing the players/markets well enough to exploit value.

If you're new to tennis betting you will be competing with

1) Superior tennis knowledge.
2) Superior player status knowledge.
3) Superior market/price knowledge.
4) Courtsiders/fast pics.

Personally i cant see how anyone can be proficient in any more than three sports max.The tennis winners market i have traded sucessfully a few times.

I never trade per se. I have nothing against traders and even arbers for that matter ,neither affect me ,in fact they help if anything to bring liquidity in .

What i like to do is see how the match is moving ,maybe after 15 minutes put in a few hopeful bets on the correct score markets ,and then make adjustments.
I tend to favour outsiders .I rarely mess with match odds .

As a rule of thumb , I buy scores in Spanish matches but lay in French and English . In La Liga games i come into the game much later than EPL matches .

Indeed Pistachio , as McChicken points out ...knowledge of a market is crucual .

But then i guess everyone has different ways of operating ,some multi task very efficiently

**glin ,there are no hard and fast rules i stick to ...some games i look and and dont touch , others i try to use judgement and a bit of common sense if i can .

what i do find is some folk overeact to certain events/teams.

Take yesterdays games, i noticed Manchester City (v Burnley) were almost the same short price as Norwich were to beat a team many levels below them ,to me that didnt make sense .

So i backed Norwich on the scores,but allowed for a Paulton goal . Likewise i backed Burnley by buying the 2-2 (if that makes sense ) and made good on that game by greening on the 2-2 at 0-1 ...both those games i bet from the kick off

and yes,i very often back more than the 1 score , sometimes as many as 4 :)

Greening out is something a lot of people like doing i guess , sometimes i find its not good to be too greedy .

Although the other night was a classic .

I liked the 3-3 on the ManU /Moscow so bought after 15 mins (?) at 270s confident that moscow would get atleast one goal.
Anyway ,when it was 1-2 at HT and the 3-3 was 18 , i thought excellent ....thats good and a nice profit .... so cashed in on it

Of course the bloody match ended 3-3 lol ...but then i would always green out at that HT situation again .

Yes I am but li i'm new on betfair I don't know how all that is functional so I prefer LAY in correct score market but its risky

0-0 is a very good one CR7 .... i know its lucrative for some as there are times when the price plummets ... i'm not sure i have the nerve for the 0-0 bet :)

I like to ask for 4/5 digits above best priced high street price and if i get matched i can almost certainly get out before kick off. The key is having the money up early.

I only like 0-0 ft market and i only bet it if i can get matched at a high price . Ex Biggest price outside exchanges 16s id ask for 21 and if i get matched i can almost certainly trade off at 20 for a free bet on 0-0 the size of my initial trade.
