Just over £2k (about 2% return)

not enough to live off, but I only do it part time at the weekend mainly and nearly all football.

If I was wiling to five times the size of my bets my commission rate would be much lower and probably create 4% return plus increaed stake size would have got me up to £20k, still not enough to live on over a 4 year period.

Anyone know how many punters win long term on betfair, it can't be more than 15% I suspect its between 10% and 15%.

0.1% is with Bookies?

I find it very hard to believe only 1 in 1000 punters win on Betfair long term. If true alot on here belong to a very elite group.

2million use betfair, id say 2k of them are pros. Approx 0.1% imo

1 in 200 is a bit more like, but still very small

I got my 10% figure from Geoff Harvey's book on matched betting.

I see now you are quoting earn enough to live off Betfair, say win minimum £30k a year?

While I am quoting any sort of long term profit no matter how small.

Thanks for your opinion, it always interesting to know how easy or difficult it is to make a living out of something you really enjoy.

I dont think u will find many on the forum who are big players. Aka earn enough to live off year in year out.

I see most pros as effectively selective bookmakers using betfair, and I can understand they don't want to waste time talking and probably use the forum to gauge opinions of what punters are thinking if at all.

Neither are they footbal fans.

Trading before an event has started is the best way imo.

why dont you just look at overall deposits on the withdraw funds screen, will give the same figure. the only time where a minus figure is good!
