Which is why my only bet last week (Benfica DNB at Everton) was with Ládbrokes. I don't pay 20% commission with them...

so you paid over 2k premium charge for only 14k lifetime winnings? thats appalling imo
Report Max and Paddy • November 8, 2009 7:01 PM GMT
No, scom. You've read that wrong. I've paid less than £20 on the premium charge, but for the time being I am giving my business to other firms. To take that amount of money (£3.03 last week) borders on the petty.

pleasing outcome as 1. i am a million miles from paying premium charges and 2. i must be due a decent betfair freebie for paying them £7k+

hang on though whats that "other charges"?

£590 down in just over 3 years.

Given the amount of nights in I've had where if I hadn't had a bet I would have gone out drinking, that's pretty good going.

Will get it all back tomorrow with a fat wad on Birmingham!

Just over £2k (about 2% return)

not enough to live off, but I only do it part time at the weekend mainly and nearly all football.

If I was wiling to five times the size of my bets my commission rate would be much lower and probably create 4% return plus increaed stake size would have got me up to £20k, still not enough to live on over a 4 year period.

Anyone know how many punters win long term on betfair, it can't be more than 15% I suspect its between 10% and 15%.

0.1% is with Bookies?

I find it very hard to believe only 1 in 1000 punters win on Betfair long term. If true alot on here belong to a very elite group.

I see now you are quoting earn enough to live off Betfair, say win minimum £30k a year?

While I am quoting any sort of long term profit no matter how small.

Thanks for your opinion, it always interesting to know how easy or difficult it is to make a living out of something you really enjoy.
Report C.Ronaldo.7 • November 9, 2009 12:31 AM GMT
I dont think u will find many on the forum who are big players. Aka earn enough to live off year in year out.
Report Analyst • November 9, 2009 12:45 AM GMT
I see most pros as effectively selective bookmakers using betfair, and I can understand they don't want to waste time talking and probably use the forum to gauge opinions of what punters are thinking if at all.

Neither are they footbal fans.
Report C.Ronaldo.7 • November 9, 2009 12:46 AM GMT

why dont you just look at overall deposits on the withdraw funds screen, will give the same figure. the only time where a minus figure is good!
