It will go to Terry.
Report JustaThought • November 8, 2009 7:53 PM GMT
Betfair will do the decent thing and pay out on both... it's a PR given :)
Report less fuss • November 8, 2009 7:56 PM GMT
Last touch was Anelka's but I agree, think it will go to Terry.
Report beepbeep • November 8, 2009 7:57 PM GMT
if it touched anelka last it cant be given to terry
Report inner city sumo • November 8, 2009 8:01 PM GMT
It shouldn't beepbeep, but it will. By the laws Valencia's goal mid-week was an og, it still went to him though. There's a trend lately of these scorers not being corrected and whoever is given it first keeps it.

I was on Terry fgs. If his header was on target (which it was), shouldn't it count as his goal, just like it would if it had glanced off a Utd defender??
Report beepbeep • November 8, 2009 8:19 PM GMT
that rule is only regarding ogs.
the rules are different for the attacking side. last touch on ball = your goal
Report beepbeep • November 8, 2009 8:21 PM GMT
the barclasys premier league home website is showing it to be confirmed as terry goal. however there is a 24 hour window for that to be reviewed. betfair will prob hold off
Report YesPlease • November 8, 2009 8:27 PM GMT
it didnt bet on this. but it was anelkas goal
Report inner city sumo • November 8, 2009 8:34 PM GMT
betfair reserve the right to a 48 hour review period. they'll contact the PL tomorrow and sort it out. if it's not settled as anelka it would also be helpful to hear the explanation!
Report jezzie • November 8, 2009 8:37 PM GMT
I know its only a small bet but I was 50 yds away from the goal this afternoon and all I could see was j terry.

Must say Fletcher is a bad looser he did not handle himself very well today.

the associated press is regarded as industry standard and they say ......

" Captain John Terry put Chelsea five points clear of Manchester United at the top of the Barclays Premier League with the only goal of the game at Stamford Bridge on Sunday.

Terry glanced home a 76th-minute free-kick from Frank Lampard - although United disputed the initial decision and then claimed Didier Drogba was in an offside position as he swung a leg at his captain's header.
"

..........i cant find a website or news report l that is saying anything other than a JT goal ............tbh this is becoming a bit ridiculous !!!
