Why are people surprised that Man Utd as a club have decided they're above the idea of paying respect , along with many other clubs this weekend , to previous generations having laid their lives down for something they believe in ?
Some clubs have have decided it's important to them . Man Utd have decided that it isn't . That's all ......

It's just the usual anti United brigade. They lead very sad and boring lives and will look at anything possible that will let them have a go at United.

why are people accused of being anti Man Utd when they state things against Man Utd. I find it a bad show that they chose not to.

As with Liverpool I believe tomorrow night if what I hear is correct. I will have the same opinion of them for it as well.

The poppy is sod all to do with British soldiers - as already stated it was originally American and it has become a symbol to remember all the dead of all nationalities killed in conflicts. If you only remember the British dead then you are completley missing the point of wearing a poppy!

Liverpool only observe local events. Anything outside Merseyside and it's completely alien to them.

Not often I'd say this but well done Man Utd.

Not bowing to the forces of meaningless tokenism.

Still want them to lose though.

People who bring petty football rivalries into a thread such as this like the pathetic birchola above should be ashamed of themselves. Sad, sad individuals.

this is football not politics. United players have died in both world wars. Why they should be worn in the actual games is beyond me - some of the players dont give a sh1te anyway

As the father of an 18 year olld black watch soldier just back from Afghan my opinion is there is no right or wrong in wearing a poppy it is a PERSONAL choice just because you dont wear one does not mean you do not care or think any less of all our heros past and present

"You utter s *** mad paddy, how can you refer to this 'poppy ****'. This is millions of people that died for our freedoms you disrespectful c***."

One assumes that includes the freedom to not wear a poppy, or to say what you like about those who wear poppies and those who don't, and indeed to refer to the tradition of wearing poppies in whatever manner one pleases?

Exactly, the Poppy Fascism Brigade are out in force.
It's seems only in the las few years we have been getting this thrown down our throats, no coincidence that the Afgan/Iraq occupation started at the same time.
