shirley hull have to try and win games at some point instead of the anti-football,from their point of view this is a game they need to try and get 3 points from.

Stoke for me. Hull players know Brown is about to get the bullet.
Report adybabybaby • November 8, 2009 8:06 AM GMT
any team to beat hull at those odds is worth a nibble imo

plus isnt geovanni suspended?
Report Ronaldinho's dentist • November 8, 2009 8:07 AM GMT
today could be the day Ull and Brown part company. If Ull dont win, comparisons will be made between the progress of these two clubs following promotion.

lay of Ull for me

Choooooooooo Chooooooooooo stop ;)

Stoke are different to Man City in that they always perform to a level of consistancy and you know how they will play. City are magnificent or awful in equal measure and you are never quite sure which city will turn up. As for Stoke they will play the same as always and it is just a question of whether it is enough to beat Hull. I think it is today.
Report stewardsenquirey • November 8, 2009 9:24 AM GMT
City not lost at home/Burnley not won away.
Potters poor record away from home.Hull poor record full stop, but better at home.
Are you trying to tell me The Potters are a better betting proposition than Man City were(hindsight is a wonderful thing)
Report doyle369_ • November 8, 2009 9:27 AM GMT

If Diao is fit should be straightforward for Stoke.

This match screams "NO BET!" to me. Perhaps I'll lay whichever team goes in front, depending on how the match goes, but at the moment, there's nothing about either team that gives me enough to back them with confidence.

Hull have only scored 4 goals in 5 matches on their own turf, but they did manage to win two and draw one -- and apart from losing to Birmingham City (0 - 1), all their other results at home have pretty much been in line with what you'd expect them to be given the quality of the Hull side:

Hull City 1 - 5 Tottenham Hotspur
Hull City 1 - 0 Bolton Wanderers
Hull City 0 - 1 Birmingham City
Hull City 2 - 1 Wigan Athletic
Hull City 0 - 0 Portsmouth

Stoke City have done well on their visits to Hull in recent years, but this season have let a lead slip away twice on the road (and twice at home, too). I'm not absolutely confident they will take home all three points even if they did score first (which isn't guaranteed to happen, obviously). Apart from that, their away record doesn't inspire enough confidence for me to have a bet on them, either:

Liverpool 4 - 0 Stoke City
Birmingham City 0 - 0 Stoke City
Bolton Wanderers 1 - 1 Stoke City
Everton 1 - 1 Stoke City
Tottenham Hotspur 0 - 1 Stoke City

All in all, I believe this one is 'too close to call' to have a serious bet on.

We will need to play better than we did against wolvs to get the result. On paper we should win, but paper often lies.
Report JOCI Club • November 8, 2009 10:44 AM GMT
Need strong nerves to back Stoke away from The Brit. That said, we should be close to full strength. Waiting to hear if Diao is fit, as somewhat surprisingly, he's performed well in midfield for us this season, adding much needed solidity. This is an important factor.

Huth is available again following suspension, and will be competing with Wilkinson for the right back slot, and I fancy him to win that tussle.

Hull missing Geovanni, and perhaps more importantly, their first choice keeper Myhill.

Stoke are at their worst when they're actually leading matches, and it worries me that they are unable to close out games.

My prediction is for Stoke to dominate first half, and perhaps go into the break with a one goal lead, only to go into their shell in the 2nd half, and for Hull to grab a late(ish) equaliser, and for the spoils to be shared.
Report JOCI Club • November 8, 2009 1:26 PM GMT
Got the first part of the prediction right.....hope I'm wrong with the rest and we go on to get another!
Report JOCI Club • November 8, 2009 1:57 PM GMT
Thought so.....think Hull might go on to win this now, given they scored earlier than I expected.
Report JOCI Club • November 8, 2009 2:25 PM GMT
Thought so. Disgusting football from Stoke. Like rabbits startled in headlights against possibly the worst team to ever grace the Premier League (apart from Derby).

Well done to Hull though for wanting to play football.
