i agree,he had a aging squad on mega money,he got the wage bill and average age down, they would have went back up im sure but now......im not sure because strachan is a tool from mickey mouse football

cant understand why they sacked him? bet te players are confused more than me

Boro and Gibson have been remarkably patient with southgate, most other clubs would have had him down the road a long time ago
Report Onedayilwin • November 7, 2009 7:27 PM GMT
they should of got rid of Southgate long before but they have **ked up big style getting Strachan
Report Hussard • November 7, 2009 7:47 PM GMT
Strachan was a rotten Celtic manager who has ripped the football playing traditions to shreds. He left a terrible team for Mowbray to sort out. He had money and squandered it.

Some Celtic fans were too blinkered to see how far back we fell under Strachan. We won things because the crowd carried the team and Rangers were awful.

He will be found out in the Championship because he is a terrible manger.

If Boro wanted rid of Southgate they needed to get a better manger not a worse one.

Strachan has started off brilliantly. Changed the team around and also tactically brilliant. Sends 10 men up for corners and wonders why Plymouth and Palace quickly send their fastest upfield when the ball is cleared. We had 4 onto 1 several times last week and again this. It's a wonder we conceded only one both times. Southgate was heavily cricised for square pegs in round holes. Cue Strachan. Arca at right wing. This week drops him. Digard our potentially best midfielder doesn't even make the bench.
Augurs well for the future.

after 'sticking' with southgate through all those times that he was well within his rights to shoot him,to only get rid of him when he was doing well in the championship after selling 30mill of players is insane to me but hey what do i know
Report Iloveparmos • November 8, 2009 8:36 AM GMT
I feel your pain Damsel !! We haven't had a decent centre forward since Viduka left :(

thats the whole point ady. i used to have respect for Mboro interms of how they managed their affairs but this betrayal ranks them with the other low life clubs

real shame. Was he not 1pt off the top when they sacked him.

they are now 9.

Cue leeds and norwich

Dragon, for the way you started this thread i think you're a tw@t

but on the thread subject, GS got 3 years (well payed) by M'boro football club, in which during those years, he got a team from top 10 to relegation, so how you can say he didnt deserve the sack is just pathetic
Report towers21. • November 8, 2009 12:13 PM GMT
the wee diddy man was a terrible decision but southgates time was up

im just worried the ginger** will now get three years to prove himself
Report The Dragon • November 8, 2009 1:13 PM GMT
Not sure why u think im a tw&t Gary i caassure you i am not.

if i oofended u in any way I apologise .

still think they should have perserved with Southgate after haveing to get rid of theoverp[aid players and was dong ok in the champ.

very strange timing and unlike how tghey have conducted their affairs over thge years.

they were one of the clubs that i thought still beleived in loyalty and respect. not anymore it seems..
sowing what you reap comes to mind.
Report Gary Binosh • November 8, 2009 1:15 PM GMT
ok, well i accept your apology, and i will apologise aswell

i agree with the fact that, it was odd to sack GS, if we werent gonna sack him at the start, why sack him now when he was doing ok

but i think they were well within their rights to sack GS as he had 3 years and was a disaster for the most part of it
Report Redford_Blade • November 8, 2009 1:18 PM GMT
I think it's just the timing which was strange. MBoro as Dragon states were 1 point off top!! Now if you were mid to lower league (like us) then yes, get rid, but I think GS would have turned things around!!! Why sack when doing well and looking good for AUTO and not sacked in the summer....

Stange but I expect Boro to lose Johnson in the window and struggle.....

Interesting to know what would have happened had Boro tonked Derby 6-0 or 7-0 the night he was sacked and not just 2-0.

Would have put Gibson in a right awkward spot

p.s. QPR best side I've seen in Championship this year...poss just lacking bit strength in depth
Report The Dragon • November 8, 2009 1:23 PM GMT
just seemed so out of character remember all the support that robson got whilst he was manager.

Couldnt believe it when i heard it on the radio .

think the die had been cast North East
Report The Dragon • November 8, 2009 1:24 PM GMT
no probs Gary :)
Report North-East Trends Fan • November 8, 2009 1:25 PM GMT
It had. But Gibson would have looked very odd if he'd sacked somebody after a win like that. Would have been awkward...esp if he did already have somebody lined up
Report Gary Binosh • November 8, 2009 1:25 PM GMT
but Dragon, we have been loyal to GS throught 3 sh!t years, he still wasnt sacked, Gibson was more than loyal, even if somehow GS got us promoted, he was too sh!t to keep us up the year after

Gareth is a very poor manager, trust me i watch us every week

u obviously know more tham me about it Gary.

as aneutral just seemed a bit strange.

not convinced youve got a good managerto replace him m8
Report tap on wood • November 8, 2009 1:47 PM GMT
Don't rate Strachan never have
Report Gary Binosh • November 8, 2009 1:48 PM GMT
im not convinced either, but i feel long term he will be better than Gareth, but as its still GS's team we boro fans will have to be patient, and just hope to sneak into the playoffs this season
Report Ravage Again • November 8, 2009 1:48 PM GMT
strachan aint got a clue, got no chance of promotion with him managing them
Report North-East Trends Fan • November 8, 2009 1:56 PM GMT
All this use of abbreviations is confusing when both managers have the same initials!!
