most people agree they are fixed so what do u think they do to achieve it. As a computer programmer myself I can see my idea of what they do. Taking the holdem (or flushem as I call it) the game is not random, where the computer would randomly choose the next card to place. It is more a case of play the cards randomly until hey we have had enough favourites winning , then it plucks the right card rather than random. To generate more revenue they will have 3 different favourites in one game and each one losing to the only other hand. So I think in a nutshell the fix is that cards are plucked out of the pack therefore making the result predetermined , but not all the time.

"Most people agree they are Fixed---- ".
I stopped reading after that little opener.

I think that you'll find that most people on this forum think that these games are fixed Fine As Frog Hair........"

On this forum maybe, but that's not the same as saying most people think so.
This forum is dominated by cranks and paranoids, so of course they're going to think the games are fixed.

With respect, personally I doubt that these games are fixed, for several reasons, (a)To who would betfair fix against (b)Why would betfair risk their license (c)If Betfair were fixing then shorly all bets would be matched
Report goldhunter • August 17, 2010 4:39 PM BST
Agree with a lot of what you have said above Dobin apart from point (c)were all bets would be matched, i don't think this is the case as i think most of the money in the pool is that of betfairs and not other people playing.Theres also the fact that it does'nt take long whilst playing, that you will see a run of totally improbable outcomes to the game and it happens most of the time.

Goldhunter
In your claim of improbable events happening, are you fully taking into account that the games run on infinite decks of cards.?
Do you really understand the mathematics of that very important factor ?
Report Grunweld • August 17, 2010 5:59 PM BST
It's only BJ that has an infinite deck and yes you do see improbable sequences of cards in that game due to it.  Holdem and Omaha have a single deck, Hi-Lo has a single suit and Baccarat has 8 decks.

This would be the right answer.

Of course they're not fixed, idiots.

That's all well and good, but it doesn't scratch the surface as to why some people have extraordinary bad luck, time, after time, after time.
You can throw mathematical cloaks over the equation, but actual results are what matter, and some people do not think they're getting a fair crack of the whip, when playing these games.

There's no such thing as bad luck when playing games of random chance.
Most of the people whining on here about losing are chasing losses, which will always lead to perceived " bad luck " one -off scenarios.
If you play flat bets you will not perceive such " bad luck " one -off scenarios. You will more likely lose quite evenly and steadily. You might even have some good winning stretches thrown in.

Bad gambling habits certainly have an effect on results, absolutely.
