I imagine that most of the people on here are fairly intelligent so it beggars belief why you keep playing these games....YOU CANNOT BEAT THEM the odds are against you and you don`t know who is betting against you if anyone.....you try winning a hand when liquidity is low....

Some people play as a hobby :)

Try playing hilo when you are the only one getting matched.....by BF of course............you MIGHT get a bit of a run for your money if you are lucky, but the inevitable run of bad luck that defies probability will soon hit...........good night Vienna. Ker...jing!

There an absaloute joke. Not been playin them long but lost an absaloute fortune on them. They really need investigating. All the boll ox about ye betting against each other doesn`t wash.Without doubt it`s Betfair`s money in there and it`s them who dictate the results.Problem is we`ll never be able to prove it Sad

You know, I think I'm tending to agree with you.
If, as is generally accepted, you are only matching house money, then they are no different to online casinos, and we all know they are bent.
Report betofaminger July 4, 2010 9:48 PM BST
Am i missing something here ??? Grumweld are you actually changing your views on these games and coming round to the obvious ?.........THERE BENT AS FU CK !
Report Jazza July 4, 2010 11:55 PM BST
Try this.....
when nothings getting matched on hilo lay 2 card and back 3 card

If your experiences are anything like mine you will not be surprised at how many times the game ends with a 2 card win.

Both bets down.....BF win again......KERCHING!

Everything is ok,i emailed them and they said the odds of you winning are the same as in any sports exchange.....i think these games need looking into a bit deeper by the industry watch dog. Then a big bung would probably make it go away....

Some recent observations have concerned me.  I've been looking at Baccarat and in rounds 1-3 the cards appear at the end of each round without any delay.  At the end of Rounds 4 & 5, there is very often quite a considerable delay before the card appears.  This immediately raises suspicion that the system is working out the best card to maximise house profits.

I know that the computer could probably calculate this in a micro-second, so why is there a delay when its only effect is to make people doubt the randomness of the games?
Report betofaminger July 6, 2010 2:53 PM BST
Grunweld i am pleasantly surprised by your postings.Indeed, far to often of late there is a delay in the turn of the final card on all the games.Calculating the best outcome for there benefits is a shout that everybody will agree with. These games aren`t an "exchange" as advertised. It`s Betfair`s money we are all playing against and there will only ever be 1 winner [>o]
Report Grunweld July 6, 2010 4:04 PM BST
I do agree they are not an "exchange" any more.
I'm not convinced they they are anything other than random.

I've been having some success with several strategies recently, but I can understand why some players are suspicious.

I asked BF a question about the delay and wasn't surprised with their stock reply that I should clear my cache and cookies - LOL.  Of course I replied that I wasn't using a browser and this would have no effect.  Awaiting their further response.
Report betofaminger July 6, 2010 4:30 PM BST
Which won`t come.Av called Bf and told them my Mother has her Breasts caught in a mangle and they told me to "delete cookies" [;)]
Report betofaminger July 6, 2010 4:44 PM BST
I have mentioned the delay in a topic headlined ABSALOUTE JOKE !!!! a little bit further down the page.I too make the point that they do themselves no favours against the "fixed" arguement
Report Rasiak9 July 6, 2010 4:48 PM BST
I've luckily enough seen the light and quit playing them for good having made a profit of about a quid, maybe slightly less than that I don't know...basically I'm even.

ANYWAY.

The odds are clearly stacked against you and clearly matched by betfair.

So, even if the games aren't actually bent (which is very, very, debatable), betfair still stands to win money on average.

On Hi/Lo for example, if the first card that comes up is a 7, and its an even chance whether the card is higher or lower, the price to back the Computer is 1.99 and to lay is 2.01. As long as Betfair match an equal number of backers and layers they're garunteed profit. Certainly it means that you're going to lose money the more you play.

The way I see it, playing games like Hi/Lo is a bit like betting £5 to win 4.98 on the toss of a coin to be heads. Its mathematically not worth it, and all the odds are just varieties of that basically.

Anyway, I for one am cutting and running from these games and highly recommend others do the same.

I made about 60k 2 years ago in a week playing Exchange poker on here. I lost 10k the following week but thankfully I had the will power to self exclude myself frmo these games after withdrawing the 50k profit! I then stupidly tried getting it back again after 6 months but Betfair said I had to write in not e-mail, luckily I'm a lazy bastard and never did that so still remain excluded from everything other than sports betting these days

I have played these games for a few years now .... I have just done another 300 2night... my advice 2 anyone is DO NOT PLAY THESE GAMES ... YOU WILL LOSE ... you might have a few good wins .. BUT YOU WILL LOSE OVERALL.. these games have the mentality of a Fruit Machine ... There are people now investigating these games and their "randomness" - yeah right .. ur right .. try winning a hand when liquidity is low ... and why would that be ?... its just like the poker machines in the bookies ... steer clear ... "Random" can be calculated in an infinite number of ways ... THERE IS NO WAY THAT THESE GAMES OR THE ONES IN THE BOOKIES ARE GENUINELY RANDOM !!
Report Jazza July 10, 2010 9:53 AM BST
Agreed.

Does anyone have any good experience with the exchange games?

yeah best thing u can do is exclude urself .. just done another 300... there is no way that these games are random .. u can virtually read wat cards are going 2 cpome out next 2 shaft u ... thats my lot on here now .. i won't b playing them again .. n betfair take note u might be the next PPI / Charges scandal within the next few years .. i'll be claiming everything back .. my advice is DO NOT PLAY THESE GAMES UNLESS YOU WANT TO LOSE YOUR MONEY .. there is no wat these games are GENUINELY RANDOM !
