Bravemansgame performed as if he needed the run and a drop back to 3 miles . Pic D"orhy gave me the impression of improvement and is not out of it come Boxing Day . My guess is that his trainer was well aware of it too .
Shishkin hated the pieces , that was plain to see in the paddock .
Galloping Des Champs ran really well for an unfit horse .
As for the bollocks about horses being ruined by a Gold Cup run , Royal Pagaille ran in the Gold Cup , L'Escargot ran in the Gold Cup and so did Best Mate .

I am surprised to see Shiskin so low on the list . I have not dropped him a pound . The favourite is not an obvious lay since the target could go to Newbury and Empire Steel seems to save his best figures for Kelso .

The rating for Shiskin is the same that he recorded when beating Pic D'Orhy last season . He was pushed out through the line that day while his rival was coasting home . I thought the Ditcheat runner landed awkwardly at the second last .
At Aintree it was more a case of Ahoy Senor losing than Shishkin winning so I will watch with interest .


At Haydock Bravemansgame could be vulnerable as his target is Kempton on Boxing Day . He will not be 100% yet and he might not be as good at this trip as he is at 3 miles .

At Punchestown it is the wrong trip for some of them .

Monbeg Genius looks poorly weighted and probably has The Hennessey as his target . Take a look at the Ultima . Of the finishers behind Monbeg Genius only two have helped the form ; Good Boy Bobby who won off of 132 but was on 140 at Cheltenham and Threeunderthrufive who ran respectably in The Whitbread .
Eldorado Allen goes well first time back and his rating has dropped considerably .

If Little Big Bear and Shaquille were in The Sprint they would both be single figure prices . Ocean Quest was not far behind them in The Commonwealth Cup . The Harrington string is in fine fettle and the filly seems to act on any ground . 25/1 looks reasonable .

Rogue Millenium was closing down Tahyira close home in Ireland and is 66/1 here . Forget her last run and she has place prospects .
