After thinking she was home and hosed for a World Championship spot lying in 2nd before the final Women's order of merit events, Beau Graves only went and won all of them and took the other place besides Lisa Ashton. Congrats to both. How do we get Fallon Sherrock to the Worlds now they thought? Easy enough. Just now give the winner of the Women's World Matchplay, which the inaugural event took place at Blackpool this year with just 8 entries, an automatic slot at the World Championships. I'm pretty certain this would never have happened had Fallon got one of the other places and it's a decision that smacks of favouritism yet again to the glass ceiling smasher who since winning 2 matches at the Worlds a couple of years ago has been given privileged entry to a host of events with very limited success. These decisions are extremely tough on the other players who miss out and have no such privilege. Are those 2 victories in very early rounds of a world championship 2 years ago worthy of such good treatment to 1 player. I for one, think not.
