To be fair it does make it more entertaining with all the high scoring but make no mistake players like Wright benefit from this

Wright was getting beat up by the likes of Hankey/Walton/Adams on the BDO before he jacked it in to get a day job Plain he couldnt make it pay.

Check the boards and style of opponents from the 80s and the likes of Anderson/Lewis/even MVG wouldnt have dominated

In fact Anderson was another one who got beat consistently on the BDO, he had to switch codes before getting any success

The PDC is a gimmick show, all the top players put on an act to sell tickets, just look at Wright from his BDO days to now, back then he never dressed up and called himself snakebite Crazy

The paying public lap it up though so thats that

I’m sure I was watching a game was streamed not televised, also no fans it was in the quali type rooms and those boards were nothing like the tv board, they sounded a lot tougher and wiring was much thicker and the treble bed looked smaller

But its the wiring and the feel of the board that is different with the tv version, theres less bounce outs on the tv board for example, you dont have to be as deliberate in your throw in televised events

Lewis was struggling in that streaming game I was watching and it’s fascinating how players struggle to get tour cards and qualify but their averages go up 10 points at the tv stage Crazy

Notice how the commentators jump right on it if theres 2 bounce outs in a match? They question the board and the board is then replaced quickly

But bounce outs are frequent on proper boards with proper wiring and treble beds

There was one match in the last few days where somebody had 4 bounceouts in circa two sets.  Might have been Noppert v Searle.
