Well played Anderson
Anderson Price final then, I will side with Anderson as the experienced campaigner ![]() Hopefully its a good match |

Anderson will need to turn back the clock or Price will need to freeze, but you never know.

Can't see an Englishman winning it now
![]() Well done Anderson, that's how to play a semi-final. Chizzy disappointing after yesterday's performance. Spent too much time beating himself up and dwelling on his bad visits. |

After he'd spent the whole press conference last night telling us all how he's stopped himself doing that, hfink

The first PDC World Championship final was held in 1994, and tonight's final will be the 28th edition.
Gary Anderson will be appearing in the final for the fifth time, joining Michael van Gerwen and Dennis Priestley with the joint highest number of appearances after Phil Taylor with his nineteen appearances. Anderson will be seeking to match van Gerwen's record as a three time winner. Gerwyn Price is the eighteenth person to appear in the final and the first Welshman. He will be seeking to become the tenth winner of the title. However, the record for first time finalist is not encouraging. Eight of the previous seventeen finalists failed to win a title, whilst five of the nine champions secured their first title on their second appearance in the final. This leaves only four men who won the title in their debut in the final, and none of them are Phil Taylor. One of them was Dennis Priestley back in 1994, when someone had to be a first time winner. The others are Raymond van Barneveld (2007), Adrian Lewis (2011), and Rob Cross (2018). The highest three dart average in a final is 110.94, achieved by Phil Taylor when inflicting revenge on Barney in the 2009 final, whooping the Dutchman 7-1. The highest three dart average in a final when losing is 104.93, achieved by Gary Anderson when losing 7-3 to Michael van Gerwen in 2017, MVG averaging 107.79. The lowest winning average in a final was 92.86, thrown by John Part when winning his second title in 2008. His opponent, Kirk Shepherd, averaged just 85.10, the lowest in any final. Anderson holds a 6-5 head-to-head advantage over Price, but Price won on the two most recent meetings, both in the Premier League. Anderson has taken full advantage of a kind draw to reach the final with his checkout percentages being 38,29,52,50, and 37. To win, Anderson will surely require to achieve a checkout percentage north of 50. A repeat of the 62.5% (10 from 16) that he achieved when beating Price 10-2 in The Masters quarter final in February 2020 would do nicely. Price nailed only 2 from 9 on that occasion, a woeful 22.2%. |

Good write up Angoose -is 2.18 on Gary, value in your opinion, please?

There are far better judges of that than me on the forum, does feel a bit skinny though.

I've had £50 on Anderson, think he has the edge having been there and done it
Wouldn't actually mind Price winning it though, good for the game if he gets it as it sets up better rivalry's in the future, matches against MVG and Wright will be more tasty if he's a world champion too |

Cheers for the stats, goose

This could go either way imo. Both have been impressive at times but have also looked vulnerable. I'll watch from the start and look for some in play bets. Might be worth laying the leader, particularly if there's a two set difference. Just depends what they're playing like. Most of all just hope it's a fitting final and great entertainment. Good luck all

If Price doesn’t win tonight, he’ll surely be back on another occasion.
For Anderson, however, this is an opportunity that he likely wasn’t expecting and will not come again. How they cope with these different perspectives will be interesting to watch. Even at his very best, Anderson has always displayed vulnerability, and you feel that he needs to get in front and stay in front. He will throw first, so a hold of set and then a break could provide the cushion that I think he’ll need if he is to secure title number three. |

Would love it to get a little tasty

I see it the opposite of that goose. Price will feel the pressure more than Anderson, who's a 2 time champion and seems to be happy with what he's achieved which relaxes him in my opinion.

Darts to win the set 3-0, doesn’t take them and ends up losing the set 3-2

Price lives in Anderson's head rent free.

Good start from 0-2 to clinch set, with bonus of Ando having missed 4 darts at double for set.

Poor from 0-2 lets be honest
A lot of that past 2 matches, Price did it twice last night as well |
