What do you mean by "slow chant"? when is this music played? or do you mean a song/chant that's sang by the fans while the players throw?
|
|
By:
It's a chant by the crowd and not the Icelandic Clap.
The first line is vaguely reminiscent of the first line from "Show Me The Way To Go Home" which used to be sang at football grounds when the action had descended significantly south of dynamic. Show me the way to go home I'm tired and I want to go to bed I had a little drink about an hour ago And it’s gone right to my head Wherever I may roam On land or sea or foam You can always hear me singing this song Show me the way to go home. By the way, the Icelandic Clap sounds like an unfortunate consequence of an evening engaged in Viking pleasure ![]() |

'I want to stay here and drink all the beer?' Is that the one?
Don't take me home, Please don't take me home, I just don't wanna go to work, I wanna stay here and drink all the beer, Please don't, Please don't take me home... Or at least thats what they used to sing on the footy :-) |

Yeah you've nailed it steelers. This song has become part of recent popular culture because it was sang by the Wales fans (mainly) at the Euro 2016 football tournament played over the summer. I'm not sure where it originates from, but someone told me it was started by the fans of Newcastle FC many moons ago.
