I see Andy Hamilton is 250/1 to win it outright and he's my idea of a decent bet to win his quarter despite playing absolutely shíte for the last year or so...they geezer owes me fcuk all as I've won plenty from him over the years and he's also in what I reckon to be the weakest quarter.
You never know...the big stage could rekindle his interest and he might just find something from down the back of the couch as Lewis has done for the last few years at this venue despite some horrendous form figures coming into the tournament. AND as we all know...Gary Anderson (top seed in The Hammer's quarter) has a habit of playing out of his skin and STILL being vulnerable...remember Jyhan Artut & John Bowles? It's sheer bias picking Hamilton (Klaasen's also in that quarter and has been playing well recently - still 300/1) but Kist is for me a decent form choice yet he's 300/1 to win it outright! I hope I can find 33/1+ (hopefully 50/1) for them to be quarter winners...at such prices you can back a few and Mark Webster 500/1 is another that I'll be interested in despite falling into the same category as Hamilton in being somewhat in the doldrums - alas, he's in Taylor's quarter. Those four could get near the 1000 mark on here over the next week or so ![]() |

Had a fiver on Newton at 250 prior to his semi-final on Sunday... finding a bit of form... not a bad draw... due to meet Anderson in round 3 if all goes to plan... Wright seems a bit overpriced on here... will wait until the market settles down on here now the draw is known...

Despite reaching the semi on Sunday, I don't think Newton's shown much for even longer than Hamilton!
That said, you can't argue with odds like 250/1 and a little bit of relative recent success might well do wonders for the confidence and he's without doubt a top 16 player. |

The draw could've been a lot nicer for Kist but what's in his favour is that (after careful scrutiny) it's the easiest quarter and I see he's 28/1 to win that (reach the semis) and as yet only four bookies have priced it up...it could get to 40 or 50/1 when the rest chalk up the odds due to his first two matches being Klaasen and then very likely Gary Anderson - if he can scrape past them then he can definitely win the quarter as Peter Wright will be the highest remaining seed.
Obviously he'll be the outsider if he faces Anderson in the last 32 but I'd make him favourite to beat Klaasen and then either Newton or Painter who would be excellent opponents for Kist in a last 16 encounter - QF opposition would most likely come from Peter Wright which again is a cracking draw as he's probably the weakest of the main 8 seeds in my opinion on recent form...so he'll have to get the main danger out of the way early on and if the shock occurs then I can look forward to a payday ![]() AND as shít as Hamilton's been playing for 18 months or so, he does have a decent CV so he's well worth a saver in that quarter betting because he couldn't have picked a better draw for himself - kicks off against a nobody, then it's likely to be Steve Beaton instead of more dangerous players who he might've been up against in the last 32 - if he progresses, Peter Wright is also just about the best draw of the main 8 seeds (on recent form) that The Hammer considering his seeding could face as a last 16 opponent...then Kist in the QF I've got it all worked out ![]() C'mon you bookmaking turds...give me 50/1 for Kist to win his quarter - I'm having a score on that and I'm NOT gonna trade it ![]() I'd advise anyone to have a stray fiver on the quarter betting as it's really just Gary Anderson that Kist should be THAT concerned about even though Klaasen shouldn't be a pushover. PS - I see Mark Webster's in to 80/1 from 125/1 to win his quarter...obviously someone's thrown ten-bob at that. PPS - Barney's huge...I don't mean that girth but he's 60 on here ![]() |

Taken from the Official PDC site*:
DAVID PALLETT is aiming to upset the odds against two-time winner Adrian Lewis when they meet in the William Hill World Darts Championship later this month. The 24-year-old from Newport, Shropshire, will make his World Championship debut at Alexandra Palace after progressing well on the PDC circuit this year - moving up to 55th in the Order of Merit. Having cut his teeth on the PDC Unicorn Youth Tour in 2011 and 2012, joined the PDC ProTour the following year and has qualified for six European Tour events since, reaching the last 16 in the German Darts Masters at Easter. After hitting a nine-dart finish in a UK Open Qualifier in February, Pallett also reached the last 32 of the UK Open finals in Minehead and is now looking to make his mark on the sport's biggest stage against world number three Lewis on December 23. "Adrian is one of the best players in the world," Pallett told the Shropshire Star. "I think he will be more scared of me than I am of him, to be honest. "I have nothing to lose and that takes the pressure off. I have to fly out of the traps, maybe take the first set and don’t bottle it from there, as people have done against him in the past. "I am really looking forward to it, I am happy with the draw and my trip down to London can't come quick enough now. I have waited a long time for this." Tickets for the William Hill World Darts Championship are still available but selling fast, with the majority of sessions now sold out. NB* - No mention in the article of young David having represented England in his BDO playing days? Lets correct that. ![]() ![]() |

Dream draw for Gerwyn at the top of the 2nd Quarter.
Plays number 5 seed Peter Wright in round one. Andy Smith or Ronny Huybrechts in round 2. In the Last 16 either Andy Hamilton/Dave Richardson or Steve Beaton/Kyle Anderson. Bottom half of the 2nd Quarter sees Gary Anderson handed an even bigger dream draw. Will the two collide? I hope so. Gerwyn @ 1000 and Ando @ 16 in the outrights. ![]() |

Anderson should be made up with his draw in Q2, although as has been said Kist is a wildcard. Kist aside, most of the actual seeds in the quarter are in poor form so far this year. I can't see anyone but Anderson making a semi-final against MVG. Chizzy is a potential stubling block for MVG though, albeit one you'd expect him to come through.
Lower half of draw is tougher. Taylor might worry about Huybrechts but out of King, Winstanley, Whitlock and Van Der Voort I couldn't pick the other quarter-finalist. I might have a few quid on a few quarter winners at big prices from that section. Huybrechts at 16/1 and Winstanley at 25/1 look decent chances. Quarter 4 is ugly. Horrendous. Whoever comes through that will be battle hardened if possibly a little fatigued. Arguments could be made for many including Wade, Lewis, Barney and Bunting. Taylor, Van Gerwen and Lewis are the three that have proved time and time again they have the game, mind and consistency to win the Worlds. All three have questions to answer. Taylor doesn't appear to be able to find his very top game as often now, Van Gerwen seems to sometimes seem like he is off the boil, like someone who doesn't practice enough or maybe too much. Lewis hits flat spots that can get him beaten. The other serious contender in my eyes is Gary Anderson, who has taken his game and his mental game to a new level. His win against Lewis in the WMP was superb. The really interesting thing for me was that he found his best darts when he was being asked questions, as he did all the way through that tournament. To me, he is the one I think is in the best place coming into the tournament. He's my main bet. Then we have a number of players who could threaten like Wade, RVB, Whitlock, Bunting and Wright. They have all shown in the past that they have the game to beat any of the top contenders on their day, they are all capable of averaging the 100+ you in several games to win this tournament. Most of them have not shown much this year, however, or can buckle under the pressure of the really high scorers and double-hitters. I would also add Dave Chisnall and Kim Huybrechts to this category, and I want to back both. Dave Chisnall is in MVG's quarter, and although he'd be an underdog he can beat him. Chizzy showed us in 2012 that he can compete with the best when he beat the Power in the second round 4-1, although he couldn't reproduce that effort in the next round getting beaten by The Hammer. Consistency has long been Chizzy's problem. He can beat Van Gerwen (2013 World Grand Prix QF) or lose to John Henderson (2014 Worlds R1). To me, this year's Grand Slam showed Chizzy's upped his game further. He topped his group and got to the final where he played The Power. He'd played the Power in the final of the World Grand Prix the year before and got beat 6-0 where he didn't win a leg in any of the first 5 sets. It must have seemed like history was repeating itself when Taylor went in 5-0 at the first break, but Chizzy showed he was now made of sterner stuff giving The Power a real scare before eventually going down 16-13. This was a real step forward for Chizzy and I think he now believes he has the game and the confidence to go toe-to-toe with the best in the World on the TV stage, and at 40/1 he rates a bet in my eyes. Kim Huybrechts has less form that Chisnall at the highest level, and the furthest he has gone in the Worlds is QF in 2012 but he seems to be developing both in terms of ability and temperament. His demolition of MVG in the Grand Slam QF was scary, going 12-3 up in the first to 16 match, and hitting a 9-darter in his eventual 16-10 win. No-one would live with him throwing like that, and looking at the draw he has a very winnable quarter IF he can overcome Taylor (due to meet in R3). He's probably just glad he's avoided his brother for once. Outright winner 3 pts Anderson 7/1 1pt Chisnall 40/1 1pt Huybrechts 66/1 3rd quarter winner 1pt Huybrechts 16/1 1pt Winstanley 25/1 |

MC - an interesting read and one that makes a lot of sense despite us both looking in different directions somewhat for a couple of outside punts.
I'm wondering just what those superb wins last week over Kist, Bunting, Taylor, VVDV & Lewis might have done for Gary Anderson's confidence because as you say, on many occasions he was at his best when he was being challenged, which is so unlike him. One thing that didn't get a mention which I remember is that with three darts in hand against Taylor (who was on a finish) Gary went for T14 with 82 left He got out of jail and finished it off but that was a huge mistake in my view and it could've affected him...especially against Taylor. With three in hand off 82 it just has to be bull first as the insurance of the 25 makes it a sizeable area to target - it's around 97% likely that there'll be a dart at tops if not two at D16 in going that route but as any enthusiast knows, by targeting T14 there is every chance that you'll have to nail the bull to finish. As for Chisnall's improvement...well I think that's questionable - he's often the rabbit in the headlights with patchy form and although I wasn't surprised when Taylor stormed into a 5-0 lead (then 7-3) Dave gave us all false hope in levelling the scores at 10-10 before fading again and re-rallying...I knew Pelican Phil would kick on again but there was no shame in that defeat for Chisnall. Nobody could've failed to have been impressed with Kim Huybrechts' superb win against MVG and I reckon his final average (around 103?) didn't do his performance justice as it was even better to the eye, though maybe that was because we're not used to that from him, whereas when Taylor hits a 107 average the commentators often say it seems to look far less than that...for once they're right. They can ALL play spectacular stuff on the odd occasion but as you saw with Huybrechts after beating MVG, he couldn't reproduce that against Chisnall in the Semi...virtually every player seems to perform like that. PS - there seems to be plenty of players in relatively poor form at the moment or nowhere near their average game BUT at what price do they eventually make you do a handbrake turn? Nobody more so than Simon Whitlock who's touched 100 recently and at such huge prices backing a few outsiders in different markets won't hurt the pocket too much...you also have the option to coward out and trade to get some of your ante back. I'm gonna be a real greaser and pilfer as much value as I can get...this tournament MAKES my Xmas so I'm gonna lay out a couple of ton and have loads of bets ![]() |

PS - just how do the shíthouse bookmaking SHEEP justify having no 'to reach the semis' or E/W first FOUR in a field of 72 yet they all persist with some of the imbecile markets?

Shocking the e/w 1,2 nonsense in the outright that has become commonplace. Even if someone shaved a few points off and had 1,2,3,4 1/3 that would be better. Still, the quarter winners market is the same as "to reach semis".

Great write-ups both of those. Any thoughts on Terry Jenkins to win his quarter? Will probably have to knock MVG out but he's got form for that and it won't be in a final! Otherwise I'll look at the price for Suljovic to beat Smith, the Grand Slam episode seems to have affected him and after beating Taylor last year he'll have a lot of expectation on him. |

Jenks has a great ability to play beneath himself against the "lesser players" in the early rounds of tv events. Many a coupon has been busted thanks to his indifferent displays - A player to swerve at short odds. On the flip side, pitch him against a really dangerous opponent early rounds and i'll back him all day long. In both scenarios it shows there's a mental issue within his game. Dissect most players and i'm sure the same applies to the majority. It's easy to get up for a big challenge, and can be a chore against an opponent your expected to beat?

Nice one DnB, plenty of options to choose from there.
Don't think Terry is a bad price there at 14/1 to win his quarter, although as you indicated he did come a cropper early on last year despite hitting a 9 darter. I don't fancy van Gerwen for it this year, too many poor patches in his game recently. Taylor still the one to beat for me. |

I think 4-1 Rowby to beat Barney is massive.
The wee man has been good on the floor this year and Raymond is gone at the game. |
