i was playing a darts league match (bank holiday monday) when white played hendry in the world champs final. yes the one where he lead by about 8 frames and lost

Brandon & Lori from "Storage Hunters" have phoned up the PDC saying that they have found Merv's "A Game" in a container in the states - apparently it was in a jar next to stuffed buffalo.  There was a note on the buffalo saying "handle with care".

Mason...some things i wouldn't duvulge here about players...in my darting prime...long time ago...anyway, a few weeks before the world champs mason did an exhibition billed as "future world champion." I won a tourney in Cov (pic supplied) and rolled up later to see mace at my local club. Course, i asked loads of questions. He said he'd ko his 1st round opponent and he'd be back delivering the post. Yep, the reigning bdo champ at the time (i think) rbv. must be 20 years ago?

I was with the Pieman in Whitley Bay (at a tournament) - it was at the time him & Terry shared prize money.  The Pieman told me the week before Terry wrote him a cheque for £14K.  (How much did Andy make from Terry around 2005-2007)

Spiller - It may take talent to get to a final, but when you fail dismally time and time again in said finals, your status in the game and your bottle has to be questioned.

Terry Jenkins played in 9 tv finals and lost 9. Even reaching a pdc final is a great achievement... Commiserations & Congratulations combined.

But they are finals DnB, they're all going to be great players.

It's no good relying on someone average to scrape through the final to stand a chance of winning.

Well Keith Deller did it against Bristow in his prime.

Joe Johnson, a complete 150/1 rag beat the world no1 Steve Davis (at his peak) in the world championship snooker* final (for our younger posters* lol). Upsets happen in sport.


Treble, while your view makes for a good debate, but you're pointing the finger at the wrong player. On 9 occasions Jenks "won his half of the draw." You should be pointing the finger at the players who lost to Jenks along the way. Jenks had a brilliant retort in the post match interview "these finals have bought me several houses." A very clever and astute man.

An aside - A similar comparison to Jenks in a final but in a reversed way. How many times over the years has Phil Taylor got to a final and we knew there was only one outcome?

Regardless of his 9 final loses, Jenks has been a tremendous addition to the PDC. I for one salute the man. A genuine no nonsense player
