I honestly think it is money that drives him on too. He has records that will stand forever so it's not about a legacy. Just loves the cash.
Wonder who he will namecheck tonight after the 33/1 shock of Tyson Fury. I'm going for Lewis Hamilton

Completely off topic but Cook's form was that bad that when I came home from golf at 2pm today breaking news on SSN was actually Alastair Cook unbeaten on 50! And this is yellow banner news
Cook a lively outsider Steps I like your thinkingCompletely off topic but Cook's form was that bad that when I came home from golf at 2pm today breaking news on SSN was actually Alastair Cook unbeaten on 50! And this is yellow banner news
Been a real struggle, looked little better today, though was dropped on 15.
For me shouldnt be skipper but well well worth place as batsman even on recent form.

His Matchplay record over last 6 years probably his biggest achievement given the era of last 6 years.
Beats all those worlds on the trot in the late 90s for me

well I reckon we are very lucky to be around through the Taylor era. Its highly unlikely anyone else will ever achieve what he has. MGV wanted to win this title very much but he was utterly blown away in the first 10 legs. Nobody can live with what Taylor can do when he's in that form.

NS - Good to see you fella. Is there any sound to the clip?
The Interview with Rod Harrington - Great link Alun - Cheers! A quickish story about Rod back in the day...
I backed Rod loads of times during his career. He was one of the top players in the pdc and a particular fav highlight of mine was when i backed him each way in the matchplay 1998.
As far as i was concerned Rod had a bye to the final where he was seeded to meet Phil Taylor.
Having buried my dad 2 months earlier, another season ticket for a week in blackpool for the arrers was a good pick me up. When Ronnie Baxter ko'd Taylor (that was a special moment to savour in sporting terms of a great upset) it also meant the win part of my bet was like bonus gold dust.
Rod played the "grinner" in the final and it was close all the way. Ronnie was closing in on the win when Rod produced a finish of pure genius (thank **** for my sharp maths mind and knowledge of the dart board or i'd have been scratching my head wondering where he was going and what was left). (Ronnie may have been on 40 - Rod wanted 125).
Rod stood and pondered (like he was weighing up his options). I thought he'd go the bull route. First dart T15, (left 80) second dart D20, third dart D20. I went mad, Rod went mad and the place erupted! I have posted about this once or twice before on here (lol) but now and again it jogs the old memory bank to when things were a little better with my health and my on/off non darts career
I'll hold the thought of posting a pic of myself with Rod at the matchplay - Good memories! In fact, if i can find it, (I know exactly where it is) i'll post a pic of myself with two of the walk on girls (1998) - The brunette being a particular fav of mine
Here's Alun's link once again for Rodders interview
