Knowing this may be the last time we see Ted on the box makes this a must-watch game against one of the guys for the future...
Can't help wondering if Ted would have benefited from crossing to the PDC sooner in his career... |
By:
he would have found it easier to climb the rankings
By:
back then and might have been able to stay in top 32 with guarnteed tv first round money, but the man has talent and might be too soon to write him off yet
By:
i always find its best to know who gets on with each other at this stage of the grand slam, sometimes certain results might suit both players

By:
i also note that sky have managed to still get justin the snail pipe on first again despite there being eight matchs

By:
lol at the music man cant even push the right button lol.
By:
gripping opening match
![]() |
By:
he's only got 1 job to do and he can't even do that right
the BDO should hire him |
By:
that music mistake wouldnt happen if phil taylor was playing!
By:
The good thing about Justin Pipe matches is that you can go for a dump, get some dinner, make a cup of tea and still come back in time for the last couple of legs.
By:
jesus i just turned on to watch a bit before nadal game. seen who was playing and switched off

Justin Pipe...looks like c*nt, plays like a c*nt, probably is a c*nt.
By:
Yellow Peril?
Well done sky |
By:
GI - I'll go with the first 2/3 of your post but from all accounts he's a decent geezer, which I find extraordinary for an ex cage-fighter!
Comes across as a gent as well when he's interviewed but like it seems everyone else, it bores me to tears watching him and (sorry Scarecrow) I think Sky are right to always have him on first. |
By:
Thought Pipe may go well this week but he was really disappointing today and yesterday. Good to see O Shea getting through, he was right about the crowd though - looks much quieter tonight.
By:
Is Pearson on a sponsored "PRESSURE" mention here? He said it about 5 times in 15 seconds during that first leg
By:
god thornton missed them doubles by a long way in that fourth leg.
![]() |
By:
The PRESSURE thing is getting ridiculous, and it's spreading too.
By:
Not concentrating fully there but did I lose my Thornton bet despite him having darts at doubles in every leg he lost?
By:
Yes.
Fourth leg looked iffy too. (It's the one hammer needed to be sure to be through) Not just the missed doubles, but Thorn needed 19 and looked suspiciously like he was trying to hit the wrong side of the wire on 3/17 (I was expecting him to miss the 3). I think the rest was fine, and that probably was too in fairness, but it was an interesting leg of darts. |
By:
Any sport with group involvement always offers the chance of dodginess in my view. Straight KO much better
Any chance of getting this game on instead of Scourgey explaining what a 9 dart shootout is? |
By:
HH - I can just about tolerate Pearson even though he's convinced he's a real funny guy (when he's a serious dullard) but Pykey is a different matter...his nasal 'mentholyptus' voice absolutely grates my ears!
![]() I loathe the way he tries to exaggerate the excitement (or often the lack of it) by emphasising (and roaring) particular words like 'HUGE' when anyone else would just speak normally...even Pearson doesn't do that! PS - this bigging-up of a non-event 9 dart shootout is ludicrous...whoever even thought of that as a decider needs a good hoof in the balls! |
By:
Thornton hit very low odds in every leg from leg 2 onwards but with the 8 sec delay or so on sky pics I never had the confidence to leave a bet up :(
By:
In case I've never mentioned this too I hate Pearson as a commentator. Lori used to detest John gwynne but JG is so much less annoying than that shouting bellend
By:
i thought so too at the time but if it was dodgy hamilton would probaly have lost the last leg

Pyke and Pearson combined with Rod show that the sky comms pool is very very thin
By:
I did think that too olddesperado in fairness.
By:
Would you accept JG back Lori if it meant Nigel was never heard on the tv again?
By:
I don't think I could HH, I'm really glad he's gone.
For some reason Nigel doesn't go through me like JG did, even though he's technically much worse. (Jesus) |
By:
As I said when Gwynne got his P45...one down, one to go (meaning Pykey) - the rest of the team is just about bearable...even that patronising prick Dr.Rod.
By:
Thornton's a huge mug if he wanted to potentially play Hamilton again in the 1/4 finals rather than Pipe.
By:
Sorry, let me rephrase that.
Thornton's a huge mug. |
By:
It's funny how a bad comms can actually really ruin your enjoyment of a game. I always feel that the cricket and tennis on Sky is really well analysed but sports like Football, darts and boxing are getting worse ( I cringe when Garry Birtles is on co-comms). As for Nick Halling as a boxing commentator he makes Nigel look well informed
By:
I MUCH prefer Pearson to Pyke though that doesn't mean I like the former...he's just a tad less annoying.
By:
Rod annoys me but more in a way of how has he got a job by basically stating the bleeding obvious all the time
Its coming to something when THE SCOURGE is actually the no 1 man |
By:
I have to agree that Scourgey and even Eric are , incredibly, different class to the rest.
Rod's my current hate for the same reasons as you. I think he genuinely believes he's really insightful. |
By:
Merv has brought his A game!!!
By:
Scourgey has improved massively and Bristow is always good. Unfortunately he's needed for spotting duties and can't be in 2 places at one time.
Rod is a pain in the arse as we call it |
