Someone's got to beat Taylor for any of these speculative bets to cop. And Thornton is comfortably best equipped mentally to do so and also catches him before he's got a chance to play himself into form with a couple of matches in quick succession.

I think Thornton has to do it cos Taylor will beat Hammer or Jenkins in my opinion
