Phil not himself these days on the box. Worlds is wide open.

Report Navel-Gazer December 2, 2012 4:38 PM GMT
I suspect MVG has frightened the balls off Taylor.

Listening between the lines when he's commented on MVG, I can sense a bit of tension & rivalry there - it doesn't seem that way with MVG in reverse though.
Report Navel-Gazer December 2, 2012 4:40 PM GMT
Cue the impending no-show from Taylor after the game...everyone else has done the post-match interview.

Hammer MUST keep his bottle here...a gilt-edged opportunity to lay that bogey and he can't let this slip!

Report Navel-Gazer December 2, 2012 4:42 PM GMT
Taylor was just like this against Thornton at Bolton, but The Thorn turned the screw - Hammer's in awe of him, and he shouldn't have fcuked up the chance to go 8-4 Sad
Report Navel-Gazer December 2, 2012 4:43 PM GMT
8-3 rather
Report RichyH December 2, 2012 4:43 PM GMT
MvG is too short also as he drops out of games for long spell and in Set format he will get punished.
I also like Whitlock at a far reasonable price.

Really undecided about the semi.

Whitlocks game atm is more than enough to beat Taylor, but he is a bit of a Taylor bitch as well.

What do you think?

Report Navel-Gazer December 2, 2012 5:19 PM GMT
That's now ELEVEN consecutive defeats (with no wins) on TV to Taylor from The Hammer...I'd expect Whitlock's figures would be something similar, so I won't be getting TOO excited about the semi-final later Sad

Even if by some miracle Simon beats Taylor, he'll figure it job done and Justin Pipe will probably bore the balls off us all and win it, booking himself a Premier League spot! Cry

Is there ANY hope for Huybrechts?

I thought Thornton had no chance at the Reebok and look what happened there!
Taylor was unreal against Ovens in the semi and The Thorn wasn't really THAT good in that tournament except for the final, where (for a change) he kept his bottle.

In fact, Huybrechts is playing at a better standard that Thornton was in my opinion and if he doesn't freeze, he might have a squeak!
Taylor has looked far from invincible recently.
Report maxstout December 2, 2012 8:53 PM GMT

Report happyhibee December 2, 2012 8:53 PM GMT
If Kim finishes well he has a chance. Got to take chances if they present themself but fancy Taylor may massacre him
Report TheMadness December 2, 2012 8:55 PM GMT
Kim averaged 104 earlier
Report Biscuit1979 December 2, 2012 8:55 PM GMT
Taylor's gone from me doubting if he'd win another major again when the hammer was caning him to that performance there v Whitlock. Ending with 170 and 164 checkouts. Simply outstanding.
Report TheMadness December 2, 2012 8:56 PM GMT
Taylor averaged 103 against Hamilton. He's playing well. But he missed a freaky amount of doubles for him
Report Navel-Gazer December 2, 2012 8:57 PM GMT
I've seen Taylor absolutely annihilate far superior players to Huybrechts, like Waites, Whitlock & Anderson (at the peak of their form) but as stated, it's all about hitting the doubles and Kim's been more than all right at that over the last few days.
Report Navel-Gazer December 2, 2012 8:57 PM GMT
PS - annihilate the opposition in finals.

Full credit to Huybrechts here. Playing well. The likes of Hamilton and Whitlock should take note. First ever final, against the greatest ever player and he's matching him stride for stride.
Report happyhibee December 2, 2012 9:59 PM GMT
Even at his best you didn't have to average scary numbers to beat Phil. As long as you're checking over 50% you can average 97-98 and win. All about hitting the shots when they're there
Report Navel-Gazer December 2, 2012 9:59 PM GMT
Treble - I think he's just hanging on mate...it's imminent that Taylor's gonna step on the gas in the next session...hope I'm wrong.

I can't wait for Taylor to retire even though we all know the game is in fantastic shape, single-handedly due to him!
He makes players like Whitlock, Anderson, Hamilton & Wade quiver and follow through in their pants before a game starts!

Is it just me?

I don't want to see him anywhere near a final, but if he is, then it has to be against MVG who can show him a few tricks Wink
I think the sets format gives the likes of Lewis & MVG a sporting chance, and there's always the possibility that a best of five could catch Taylor out against a potential floater - there are some really capable players outside the top 16...even 32!
