Kings a big Baby and got what he deserved, seen it so many times, you reap what you sow
dont blame king, bunch of simpletons in the crowd spoilt the match
to be truthfull ive only been watching it with sound down as i was watching x factor (we have knock thru lounge where i have tv/ pc.been keeping eye on match , didnt look great standard, wsas with king till 3-0 by which time it didnt really matter eithe ay financially.kings just lost his last final id guess.
Wade, Lewis and Taylor all faced far partisan crowds than that and won, just another excuse from him whn his Head goes, best Player won.

there seems to be some suggestion the crow got at king , well so be it , you have to get use to the fact a bunch of p9ssed up thick idiots will ct in that way.
I agree but it's pretty much the norm for any PDC Tournament, King brings a lot of it on himself.He played 2 maybe 3 good sets of Darts, not enough at this level.
So come on Sky 'experts', let us know how MVG has turned the corner this year.

Funny how the crowd only gets mentioned when he starts to play poor, he was 4-1 up and crusing then his level dropped.He couldn't pick his level up, it's easy to blame the crowd.
not very generrous i defeat even if he does feel that way. u must remember thses crowds dont care what standard of darts hey watch, they just want to screasm n get pie eyed , it wont everr change all the time booze is served and booze will always be serrved.that said i only watch 4 sets with the volume up and there want any realevidence of the crowd puting one layer off .

If the crowd are that much of a problem, suck it up, give a good speech, kiss their arse and change opinions. Instead he makes it 10 times worse for next time, I know it cant be easy, the crowd can be morons but he needs to look at himself to.

It's a real shame that Phil wasn't there to give Merv a richly-deserved friendly pat on the head like at Wolver a few years back.

King better going back to the BDO. If he feels the way he does, and keeps moaning about the crowds, it will only get worse. Sure he did not moan

Spillsy knows what he's talking about to be fair. He's been on the receiving end of crowd abuse himself, during his 5 year reign as PG Tips Desert Classic winner in Runcorn. All sorts were giving him vile abuse. One of the PG Tips chimps even jumped onto the stage and pulled his trousers down while he was trying for a 9 darter (was throwing 1st dart of the leg at the time). How sick was that?
The sponsors put the Money in because of the Viewing Fiqures and attendances so that's a point doesn't make any sense.
when that swedish player got continul barraking from the crowd whilst the other guy was treated with respect during a match lst year was jut the thin end of the wedge , it will get worse(i can only do so). i dont se any answer to i.

Its to do with VIEWING figures sponsorship. (not the crowd) OK it plays a small part.
After football - Sky's next highest rated sport is DARTS. (not rocket science)

The Players make the Sport, that is absoulte bollocks, if nobody watched Darts the Players would be playing in the Pub.

summed up nicely steptoe but IT WONT EVER happen . it wil get worse and worse.as i said financially it made next to no difference to me but personally id rather watch both playerrs playing well.

Everyone agree's that Player's shouldn't be heckled while throwing, I was at one of the worst atmosphere's that Darts has seen in recent years and have swore I wouldn't go back as it's full of Drunks not giving Players any respect.How the PDC combat that who knows but I have the feeling Sky would rather it was like that.

I think they's have to stage Ted vs Merv as a simulcast. One player throwing in a Staffordshire library, specially closed for the day, and the other in a shed somewhere in East Anglia.

Does King not wear ear plugs to drown out the noise of the crowd? Or was the noise so bad he could hear it through the plugs?
He must of worn them out for his semi final against Dolan when he was getting proper heckled but he won that so the crowd weren't a factor.
king came across as bad loser and least say well done to the winner who won his first tv title.
King never loses a game fair and square, their is always an excuse.He was moaning about the Lakeside crowd about 5 years ago.

The crowd last night were absolutely disgraceful. What ever happened to the referee saying "best of order" and "Please do not shout out while the players are throwing". Could you imagine this behaviour at Wimbledon or at a Snooker match. They would quickly be thrown out.
