Evening matches ( With an actual preview ;) )
Kevin Painter v Mensur Suljovic: Forum favourite Muttley makes his entrance v the unconventional Suljovic this evening in what could be an interesting match. if there is any justice we will have a Kevin does London follow up to his Wolverhampton tour but I will wait and see if that happens :). Painter is in and out these days but when hes good he is still a very good player. Suljovic is also very handy despite his slow pace and awful throwing style. I think this match could go 4 sets very easily and as such I like the look of the maxes in this. Painter is excellent on the trebles usually and at the last 2 Worlds Mensur had totals of 5 & 6 in 08 and 3 & 4 in 09. Recommendation: 2pts win Over 6.5 maxes @ Evs (SJ) Phillip Hazel v Osmann Kijamet: Only time I recall seeing Hazel on tv was v James Wade in Vegas this year and he looked decent enough. His opponent is here as a result of winning the eastern european championship but I confess to knowing nothing else about him. 4/7 Hazel in a race to 4 might look large but his opponent could be anything so no interest for me. Recommendation: No Bet Gary Anderson v Jamie Caven: This match has the potential to be the match of the round featuring the supremely talented (but mentally fragile) Anderson up against probably the most improved player on the PDC tour this year. Anderson is a massive scorer who has massive problems with his doubles and Caven is just an all round solid player who is also capable of heavy burst of scoring. Anderson is hot fave to win but I doubt he will get it all his own way and I expect 4 or 5 sets in this. Again with the potential of this I will have a decent bet on overs on the 180's again. Recommendation: 2pts win over 7.5 maxes @ 8/11 (SJ) Ray Barneveld v Warren Parry: Barney is showing signs of a slight revival but he is still on my to get list when the price and opponent is right. I think he has been mentally scarred by so many bad results to Taylor and the self doubt is there for all to see. Parry however shouldnt pose him too many problems and its probably the ideal match to get his campaign off to a routine win. 1/3 about 3-0 aint my cup of tea though so I am happy to sit this one out. Recommendation: No Bet Andy Hamilton v Hazel/Kijamet: Last game of the day sees the heavy scoring Hamilton take on the qualifier. No prices up yet but cant see anything other than a routine Hamilton win as long as he brings his usual game to the oche. Recommendation: No Bet Summary: Evening for me revolves around the 2 heavy scoring matches. Hopeful of lenghty games in each which should add to the prospect of a lot of 180's. The prices I've put up may not be best price however but Oddschecker aint showing all the total 180's bet and this was the best I found. All views and opinions welcome and all the best of luck to everyone who is punting on this evening games. :) HH |
