The French are shooting themselves in the foot hosting this. Looking at the crowd at the finish the second wave will accelerate further from what is already a bad situation. At least an early end to the race would put brain dead Ned out of his misery after another classic today. "Cees Bol though, full throttle from the Dutchman, Bol it is, Bol powering to the line, it is going to be Cees Bol, Cees Bol all the wayyyy (this said when Kristoff is alteady a length ahead), and naah Alexander Kristoff gets there in the end."
The clown can't call a finish to save himself. |

Britain's Adam Yates moved into the lead of the Tour de France after Julian Alaphilippe was given a 20-second penalty on stage five, which was won by Wout van Aert.
France's Alaphilippe, who is now 16th overall, was penalised for taking a bottle from a team support member inside the final 20km. Yates leads Primoz Roglic by three seconds in the yellow jersey. "This is not the way I'd imagined taking the yellow jersey," said Yates. "If I'm honest, no one wants to take the jersey like this. "I was looking to take the jersey on stage six anyway so I'll go in with the same tactic - try to win the stage and see what happens." |

Hes not a top trial runner
Whers he going to find the time with a team not firing |
By:
yeah lack of team support is a worry - Ineos don't seem to have got it right this year. The last week sees some really tough stages in the Alps which could suit an improving Bernal more than Roglic who may have peaked too early

This Pogacar lad is something else, if he can remain full of beans through the Alps, he'll take some stopping.

Despite all 166 riders left in the Tour de France testing negative for coronavirus, the race director Christian Prudhomme has tested positive, according to reports in the French media.
|
By:
Like everyone in the 'race bubble', Prudhomme underwent at PCR test on Monday's rest day, and reportedly received news of a positive result on Tuesday morning, ahead of the start of stage 10.
In a statement released just before 1pm on Tuesday, race organiser ASO and the UCI confirmed that there were no positives among riders but four cases among staff from four separate teams. They also stated "a technical service provider has also tested positive and has left the race" but no specific mention was made to Prudhomme. French newspaper L'Equipe, which is owned by ASO, was among the French media outlets to report Prudhomme's positive test. It said Prudhomme will have to leave the race for seven days, and will be replaced during that time by former rider and current ASO sporting manager, François Lemarchand. |

Oh I do like to be beside the seaside is very much the theme as we travel from Ile d'Oleron Le Chateau-d'Oleron to Ile de Re Saint-Martin-de-Re.
This is the first time ever that the Tour de France will feature two islands in the same stage which are both linked to the mainland by bridges. Expect some spectacular scenery but if the wind picks up, also plenty of potential drama in the general classification race. |

1 staff member of Ineos has tested postive
The team going to need a miracle not to test positive again And thrown OUT |
By:
Backroom staff from Ineos Grenadiers, Mitchelton-Scott, Team Cofidis and AG2R La Mondiale tested positive and have left the race bubble.

The rule is two positive cases within a seven day period.
It means that teams will be excluded from the Tour if any two members of their 30-strong ‘bubble’ of riders and staff test positive for COVID-19 within seven days. https://www.cyclingnews.com/news/two-strike-team-out-covid-19-rule-restored-on-tour-de-france-after-french-government-intervention/ Apparently, Ineos tested one day before everyone else. Have they managed to pull a fast one on the field It is not known if jiffy bags were used by Ineos during the testing process. |
