It was just a test, but now SKY know what to expect for the final climb off the back of the Mont du Chat. They're setting the pace on the front now whilst climbing too, suggests they are on good sensations with Bardet, and they have the two satellite riders up front. Wow! This could be the French Revolution if it comes off!

ALM still working on the front of the GC group, they are setting a stronger pace than SKY did before, gap inching down as a result. In favour of a stalemate, presently -- too close to call!

Benoot a GC development rider indeed, this is all experience for him, very good plan by LTS to have put this into effect today. Will be very interesting to see how he goes.

The breakaway is back together on the descent as expected -- five riders are better than two -- they'll need to work together on the flat valley road if they want any chance of stage victory.

Moreover, I cannot believe that SKY will ride tempo on the Mont du Chat, they'll want to give the GC rivals a hard ride and see where they are. Tough to call still, but it is going with the GC, I think.

Yep, lack of organisation in the breakaway, too much talking, riders missing terms, some not participating in the case of ALM...meanwhile Kwiatkowski is on a training ride at the head of the SKY train. The only thing that will save the break is if SKY don't motor, and when was the last time they didn't on such an important climb, especially? Therefore I think it is with the GC peloton.

Gap somewhat stable at 3:20, but climb not yet begun and SKY look imposing, in a way will want to wrestle back some control from ALM. Still with the GC I think. Fuglesang is there after the selections, he'll get over the climb I think, can descend well and has a decent kick in a sprint.
I don't agree with the market that Froome attacks on the descent and wins, he'll require allies or teammates for that, and then he will require strong kick in the sprint, I think. That's a big ask, but I'm not game to lay him as he is a champion. Just don't agree with the price, he shouldn't be a favourite, this isn't a summit finish -- he'll require a sprint to win and he isn't the best in that, actually.

Fuglsang is available at 30s and I think he'll trade much lower if he can make the selection on the climb. Whether he can make the selection depends on how hard SKY go and if there plan is to just ease off so that Froome is left with teammates on the descent and flats.

SKY have lost Kwiatkowski very early, and they don't have G, they are not going to have their own way here, I don't think. So far it can still be described as tempo riding.

Fuglsang 30s looks good now, but he needs to consolidate by opening the gap toward the summit, then gun the descent which we know he will, and has the motor to hold off the GC men, but it'll be hard, and it could be Aru satellite, but then he'll be trading low enough to cash out! Long way to go, for all that to happen.

Rigo Uran matched for big amounts at 100s and over, on here. 50/1 SP with the Books and pre start.
My apologies for the auto-correct on the spelling of the names -- think you guys knew who was who.
It's been a long road back for the COL rider, he hasn't won at this level in 2 years, that's 2 years, I must admit I never once considered him for the win here because of such a poor strike-rate.
Really wanted Fuglsang, but no complaints when you get a market like this.

PMSL he was balls out for 90 % of the race and hardly a Sprinter Surprised he had anything Left ,I am emailing betfair Fc knows what price he would have traded During the Photo everyone was calling him the Winner ... Need the rules Clarified As I often Lay bets in running ...

Thoughts with Porte, as I stated on the GC thread, I thought he couldn't win, and his descending was a weakness, but would never have hoped it would be such a weakness that he would go out like this. Disgusting scenes.
Guys, here in Australia we consider Tasmania and Tasmanians with some playful fun, but Porte -- as you guys have probably seen in the interviews -- is a really humble and nice guy, a good bloke we would say, and am really sad for him, actually.

Why the hell did Aru, Uran and Fuglsang assist in the chase of Bardet. They should have let Froome do all the work and then attack him one by one. Absolutely stupid tactics!

Amazing Stage Disapointed Cheers went To Tears ,But fck knows what Price he would have Traded ,and it needs to be Clarified
For Future races ...Im not a sore Loser but when u go to look at the Odds in a Photo as most would do you, do not expect to
find the market suspended 2 minutes before the result is called

Sit on Froome's wheel, play brinksmanship, make him chase Bardet. "Sorry Froomey lad, you're in yellow, its up to you to chase him down if you want to keep the jersey". After 10km of having a breather, ping off him and put some distance into him.
Big winner from that stage is Froome. OK, he's lost a domestique but he's lost two rivals and he's even made some bonus seconds.

bb66 you can't criticse Barguil for drafting then sprinting there ffs.
He's been out in the break all day and he's the only one not fighting for GC. He's got absolutely no reason to work at all there.

Mate, Aru was protecting his 2nd-place by putting Fuglsang to work. Plus, AST move Fuglsang up the order also, after Quintana and Contador failures, and Porte out of the race. How powerful are they with two riders in the top-5, now?
They lost nothing, but gained everything by assisting Froome, who was always going to be reliant on assistance once off the final climb as stated. They are the only team with two riders in the top-5, so don't you think that was worth helping Froome? I think that was very subtle and fine tactics, I would have done the same -- all win no loss!
The alternative would have meant that Bardet closes right down on Aru's time, maybe level-peg, and that just becomes another calculation that AST don't need. No, much better to arrest Bardet while it's available on the road in the live situation, then deal with Froome with two riders in the top-5, knowing where to focus their attention and efforts.
Disagree with you MC, thought that was brilliant tactical acumen by Vino.

Not criticizing Barguil for not working after being chased down, he had achieved what he went for (KOM jersey), but shouldn't sprint for the stage then, it's an unwritten rule as well. Almost no gentlemen there these days, at least Porte and Quintana refused to continue with Aru.
