Starts on Sunday with a horrible looking 4km uphill prologue. Overall the profile looks like one for the climbers and stages 5 and 6 next Friday and Saturday should be good fun for those who like to see a lot of climbing. The line up looks as strong as you'd expect for a week long stage race of this significance, but also most teams will use this to fine tune their tour de France teams. Froome, Contador, Aru, Porte, Pinot and Bardet are all here and will be aiming for outright victory. In four of the last five years, the rider who has won this race has gone on to win the Tour.
To me Froome looks a lot better now compared to this time last year. Of course he did win the Dauphine and the TDF last year anyway. He probably fancies another Olympic medal.
