No Greipel or Henderson after their withdrawal. The fast men left are Modolo who won Stage 13, Viviani who won Stage 2 and Nizzolo who hasn't won anything yet but has been on the premises a fair few times.
By:
Bet £3.65 going best price about pretty much all the favourites, I've taken the 7/1 about Viviani. Suspect he may even team support tomorrow.
By:
Will be very interesting to see who is in the break tomorrow.
By:
Just looking at the final 3.5 kms -- looks like the perfect launching pad for a TT specialist having good sensations. Might be even easier if he was to find himself in the breakaway. There could also be a bit of a tailwind, which would assist the stage hunter.
By:
Small stage, not hard for 2-3 teams to control. But cant see value in any bet really...
By:
Hoping the sprinters teams don't infiltrate the break
By:
This is looking pretty good for the sprinters teams so far. There is a break of 3 up the road with 1 rider trying to bridge across.
By:
wait for the climb...
By:
Rumours around the race circulating that Alberto Contador is going home after today's stage
By:
Looks pretty safe for the sprinters teams
By:
By:
Also Eurosport are absolutely hopeless mixing tennis and the Giro. *twiddles thumbs*
By:
Ahh sneaky, MC. Sneaky!
By:
Lugano is where Contador lives, along with Sergio Paulinho.

Yes mate, Dan Lloyd's joke from twitter
By:
Pretty impressed we had 110 posts on yesterday's fred. Viva Il Giro. Viva Il Forum.
By:
All set for a bunch sprint.
By:
BMC making the race harder for Gilbert? Not steep enough to drop sprinters i think
By:
G'day gents, got in a bit late for this. Haussler, Chavanel, and Gilbert were my picks. Only managed to get matched with Gilbert, though. I think heard Chavanel was mentioned walking into the room -- any excitement with those other two?
By:
It looks quite excited on the front -- that final 3.5kms may very-well be the staging point for one to steal a march.
By:
Looks bloody fast -- tailwind will assist a breakaway -- can anyone confirm the manner of the wind?
By:
Hansen did a similar thing in 2013 stage 7 over a bumpy course at the Giro. Increased his lead, but he's still a fair way out.
By:
yes tailwind for most of the time. That final could be good to launch an attack for guys like durbridge or to teams like movistar or CCC to make it harder for grega bole or Lobato
By:
Sergio Paulinho driving the peloton on his roads :)
By:
Nice one, cheers EB. Pace really fast, but that final bump will retard the arrowhead a bit perhaps. Bunch sprint not assured, but positioning critical for the likes that can TT well.
By:
Hard to tell who is moving up on these narrow roads...
By:
small stakes on Grega Bole @80
By:
Added Chavanel to Gilbert, small stakes, also.
By:
Slagter goes for it!
By:
I think Slagter has gone a bit early here.
By:
Gilbert attacks
By:
Argh... Gilbert drawn out by Slagter, did not play the patience game!
By:
What a final, super narrow roads
By:
Wouldn't lay against Paolini, but won't back him as I'm suddenly stretched!
By:
lampre surely!?
By:
bunch sprint, perfect combo for Modolo
By:
Modolo Wins, perfect sprint!
By:
Sharpening arrow controlled perfectly by Lampre and Modolo it was. Clinical stuff, but I thought Haussler had a fair chance to do something.
