Only 29! I'm not sure how much the knee injury is really to blame here, he seems to have been able to function as a lower rider for the last few years and perhaps finally given up on returning to 2011 form?

A good solid pro, tainted like all others in the era he came to prominence and stories that he'd ride mountain stages after going out on the piss the night before didn't help his cause. He had a bit of my cash on his head throughout this year whether that was sentimental or not I'm not sure. I'll miss him but I'm not sure why and not on the level of Vino sadness.
