Early blow for England, Root LBW. Hope Brook settles himself in before trying anything too fancy.

Stokes bowled by a very good ball from Foulkes.

150 behind 4 wickets left. Betfair have England marginal favourites. Not sure about that one.

I would need 10 to be tempted to bet England. They really are a very ordinary side. Not sure which Test playing side I would back them to beat. Sri Lanka perhaps or Ireland?

Pretty remarkable stuff with both sides collapsing when in dominant positions.

The pitch is certainly giving the bowlers more help now, the young lad Foulkes was getting a huge amount of movement, makes you wonder why he was not picked in the first place !

Brook for once played responsibly and was unlucky to get a jaffa from Mr Foulkes, as did Stokes. Not much excuse for some of the others, what score would we have got if Duckett had been caught early like he should have been ?

The Barbadian bowled a hostile spell when NZ batted again, rewarded with 2 wickets. You have to wonder why he couldn't have bowled like this more often, definitely an under achiever imo.

England will need early wickets tomorrow if they are to have a chance of winning this game.

Pitch playing a few more tricks this morning and batters wearing a few brises. Does not bode well for tomorruw's run chase.

The record-breaking sixth-wicket stand in Test cricket was set by Amir Jangoo and Roston Chase during the first Test against Sri Lanka at the Sir Vivian Richards Stadium in Antigua. They achieved this milestone by adding a record 401 runs for the sixth wicket, surpassing the previous record of 399 runs. This stand is now the highest partnership for the sixth wicket in Test cricket history and also marks the first time in Test cricket history that a pair has put on 400 runs for the sixth wicket. The stand is also the second-highest partnership in West Indies Test cricket history, behind only the 446-run partnership between Sir Garfield Sobers and Conrad Hunte against Pakistan in 1958.
over in antigua yesterday.

New Zealand have a 305 lead now and 3 wickets left, I would not mind seeing a few swings of the bat. 350 lead and four sessions to bowl will still Have both teams in the hunt with New Zealand strong favourite to win in my book.

Strange timing of the announcement but his batting has hardly been better than very ordinary for 12 months.

Must be waiting for Mitchell to get his 100.

No other reason to be out there.

An obvious ego trip for Stokes this. Don't care if he scores a ton, it's all about him Sad

He has the right to call it a day on his terms, but he must have known before this match what he was going to do and should have announced the news then.

Hard to remember a day of cricket with so many separate delays. Shame there is not another Test. NZ would not have many bowlers left.

Gutsy 100 from Mitchell. Took some blows. Deserved it.

Stokes reverse sweeping 2nd ballCrazy

got rid of most of the catchers already when Stokes on strike.. not the worst gamble on a pitch that's very tough against the new ball especially..

not sure it'll come off but don't mind it..

If Stokes hadn't made his announcement earlier Brentford then i would probably agree with you, especially with such a depleted NZ attack.

But this all smacks of "look at me i'm irreplaceable". and "isn't bazball great".

Mitchell really deserved his ton, a proper test innings grinding it out earlier and then upping the ante as he ran out of partners.

30.  Not quite going out with the glory he hoped for.

Cannot think of another Captain who would have done that.

Bethell gone for a duck now.

yep, terrific knock...possibly as a result of being a few years older than most he seems able to change his game very effectively through formats..

Game being treated with total disrespect by the Chav duo..the egotistical, attention seeking, overrated balding ginger thug and the divvy Brook who needs dropping ..pour encourager les autres.
Side is toxic, infected irretrievably from above by the 'cool' kiwi midget and the unfit for purpose slob Key
and the head of the hydra viz the ECB needs a total clearout but don't hold your breath
God knows what our Geoffrey really thinks about all this
symptomatic of a broken,untermensch Britain..RIP.

This just shows the insufferable mindset of the England management set up. We WILL do it our way, whatever the situation.

The NZ attack has just 3 frontline bowlers at the mo, the batsmen should have been trying to tire them out over the first half of the innings, the overall target only works out at 4 an over and they should have taken a leaf out of Mitchell and Ravindra's book of how to play on this wicket. Hopefully Root will restore calm.

Brook is braindead.

the silly thing is that with NZ down to 2 quick and one spinner England could win the game with conventional batting. Stokes has a lot to answer for.

Duckett gone to a steep rising ball. Unplayable at that pace. Good catch too.

The arrogance of this England team is only matched by the Uniparty collection of MP,s.

On receiving your England cap,do they then remove your cricket brain?
By:

When: 28 Jun 26 22:10
It's a "" sine qua non"" to have no grey matter in order to receive the cap in the first instance.
