Think both sides will be reasonably happy. India fought back well in the last session but what was Marsh playing at. His place in the side is looking suspect as has always been the case for me. Oz could have batted the Indians out of this game but for some indifferent shots and leaves. Think the young Indian opener will love this place and I fear him especially without Hazelwood. Kohli is a disgrace and always starts nonsense. Not sure what you are saying regards the particular incident as I concur.

Yeah sorry I missed something. I assumed ( thought even ) that you would appreciate Kohli head butting the line. Then someone threw the ball at Marcus. I though5 that was pretty Australian…..if you’re not cheating, you’re not trying hard enough. On reflection I think it should have been 100% match fee and one match suspension. Not a great way to end a stellar career.
If India cannot bat 5 sessions they deserve to lose. It is theirs for the taking. Sadly they lack at least one class seamer. Too much on Bumrah atm.The batters owe him bigly. |
By:
Kohli and Sharma both need to hang up their boots. Sadly that run out cost the young man another Test century. Regardless of that incident India have so much young talent like Jaiswal that deserve their chance at this level
By:
Kohli has been a master batsman even a Goat but he is constantly getting out the same way. He really ought to go at the end of this series at the latest. Even Dhruv Jurel the reserve wicket keeper is more deserving of a batting place let alone Gill or Sarfraz Khan.
By:
Jaiswal was batting beautifully, but there was no run there and he showed a bit of inexperience imo. I know it's his shout but he has hit it straight to the fielder and Kohli was right. The young man is a right talent and didn't look like getting out. Boland the best of our bowlers and we go into tomorrow in a very strong position. Smith's dismissal was unbelievable but he batted really well.

By:
Maybe but you don’t turn your back I’m alright Jack. He should have shouted out a big NO. There was something going on just before. He turned down a second and gave Jaiswal a look. He is not the Don anymore and has to go imho.
This is a pretty good Test wicket. Still no reason why India cannot make at least 400 here. I think the run line is 296.5 and worth consideration. 346+ pays 9/4 and is certainly worth a speculative imho. If the two at the crease see off the first half hour Nitish looks solid and Sundar certainly capable. |

Stupid lack of concentration by Pant
Sunny summed it up pretty well Stupid, stupid, stupid |
By:
It was worth staying up to watch Reddy and his dad get their first Test Century
Plus I backed 296 and 346! The last hour has been a grind though |
By:
Great Test match to watch. Fine innings by Reddy but those last 2 wickets give us a chance on a day when I thought we were lacking a bit of spark from our bowlers. Draw looking the probable result.

India would have been battered and lost this series already without Bumrah. Dirac has been out if sorts and they have missed Shami or a bowler of his kwality. Similarly Aus might have been battered if India had one more World class seamer. I am surprised they did not try Prasidh who has genuine pace.
Both batting sides have looked brittle. India are almost 2 down with Kohli and Sharma. Aus have similar problems. Bumrah and tgd Aussie attack are too good. I think Australia will win this. There is a hint that the pitch will spin tomorrow and India will have too much to do. It may well be a case of how many wickets India lose to the new ball. The pitch is still good for batting. |

By:
Aus are the bet here still 13/10

![]() How’s her luck. Beaut from Siraj Umpires call against the luckiest batsman in the history of Test cricket! |

And the Aussie prices is shortening!

The ball is 55 overs old.

Is Mitchell Starc injured?
By:
Abductor issue or similar -
played down by him at the end of play interview on ABC Radio - says he can bowl as many as required...how true that is you make your own guess but I don't think it will prevent him bowling..just the potential impact on his effectiveness though.. |
By:
*lower back/side muscle not abductor.

What a fantastic test match this has been. The 2 best Test Teams by a country mile. At 99-6 it was looking perilous and what a sensational spell from Bumrah backed up by Siraj and Akash who I thought bowled really well. Bumrah's figures are truly outstanding. However we have dug in and the tail have been great and puts us in with a great chance. Can we take 10 wickets in a day. I don't think so. Draw for me.

laughable that south africa are in the final having played no one of any note. looking to forward to whichever of oz and india miss out whinging non stop about it

Thank you elisiohn.A fine match shame so few comments on here now.

Today's Zimbabwe Afghanistan game draw went as low as 1.45 and as high as 14.5! Some draw layers must of cleaned up with less than 50 overs of play. Don't think I've ever seen a first day like it
By:
Still recovering from one of the best Test matches I have ever seen and we do it all over again tonight. God knows what is going to happen in this one.
By:
Smith obviously not learnt his lesson
Cheating again Dreadful |
By:
It was out my dear boy. Fingers clearly under the ball. Shockingly bad decision. Thought you might have come on to congratulate us on our MCG win. It was very good wasn't it.
By:
You probably thought Jaiswal wasn't out as well.
By:
Oh Gary, Gary Gary.
By:
Bye Bye kohli. Got 17 more than you deserved.
By:
India come storming back. Respect
By:
I was surprised Prasidh did not start the series. Tall with pace, a good first changed to keep the pressure on. The pitch is obviously helpful.
Highly enjoyable watching. |
By:
Sad end for both Kohli and Rohit in this series but India have been two batsmen light all series. There is so much talent available. India could play 4 or 5 wicketkeepers good enough to be selected purely as batsmen. Really poor selection.
Brings to the crease stupid, stupid, stupid but what a player he is….. still! |
By:
Quite a magnificent hour of Test cricket for the neutral
By:
And brilliant from Cummins
I don’t think India have anywhere near enough. Tomorrow is another day. Pant was running down the wicket. Will it still move around tomorrow…. Who knows! |
By:
Think the pitch will play the same as previous days. Would not want to be chasing 180. Has looked a minefield.
By:
minefield, this is an easy chase
, indian batsmen have been very poor thislast few months |
By:
ADVANCE AUSTRALIA FAIR. Greatest cricket nation on Earth and probably the Universe. Stick that kohli.
By:
If they bat as badly a# they have this series they are going to get destroyed in the Ashes. They played against a side carrying two non functioning batsmen and with only one functioning bowler and still struggled to win. Schadenfreude that in your poor and smoke it.
