Take the pitch out, England look incredibly thin on the bowling front.

Most of the guys on here are usually doing a bit of car maintenance,or polishing them on the drive.no doubt when the match starts a few might have an opinion, now there’s a thread. |

Maybe I'm being naive but doesn't a draw look good ?
|
|
By:
A draw does look a prospect but just so hard to read this pitch. I think England should be able to match this score but thus far I have not had a bet.
|
|
By:
If that was hitting it didn't bounce as much as I would have expected.

0 from 13 and possibly the worst review of the lot

Despite our weakish bowling attack, we only have six batters in the side (inc. WK) and one may now be injured.
And we don't die not trying in our approach, and we haven't drawn a match without weather for years. ...wouldn't hate a draw lay 2.3-2.4 here, despite the flat pitch. |

Are the rules different in Pakistan? They would not be playing red ball cricket under lights here when it is nearly dark.

Clearly!

Pretty shocking to see such a small crowd. I shudder to think how much a Lords ticket for India will be in the summer

Glad I have not bet on this match. It is dirge. Was tempted to lay Pakistan around evens. Still not sure this is a draw buf did not get involved to build up an early speculative pot.
Paks throwing the match is also out of the question right now with the odds I would not declare if I was Root and would try and bat beyond tea tomorrow. If the pitch dies deteriorate it will not be quick |

Harry Broom is an amazing player.
His Roof is the best English batsman by zi have ever seen and I have seen Geoff Boycott in the era of great fast bowlers and not so flat pitches. KP is mg favourite and most exciting batsman. Alastair Cook wound not make my top 3 England xl’s I hope Brook can go on and improve his game, top player already on flat pitches Would love to see him tested |

Joe Roof is the best!

The roof is on fire!
Joe Root! |

England dropped from 3.75 to 3. 1 in Minutes.
I was tempted at 3.75 Still not too late but have missed the party |

Exquisite cover driving from Brook
Quite a joy to watch |
|

Where is Grant?
It’s an effing road! |
|
By:
In at 2.98
Already down to 2.66 If these two can see out the day there may be trouble ahead for Pakistan. Thus hs still a road. Smith will want his. Woakes is technically a very good batsman particularly when there is no pace, no movement and even bounce |

No choice but to review.
Wow How’s yet luck |

Very unlucky for Naseem Shah
Excellent bowling |

Anyone hear about the Bangladeshi / India Second Test?
Makes Bazball look Boycottesque! |
|
By:
Joe Root…… G.O.A.T.?
Difficult to call because of changing circumstance but certainly the best English batsman since 1970. |
|
By:
Can’t see England declaring either.
I’d also be inclined to ask for the heavy roller |
|
By:
Even Paul Farbrace recognised KP’s greatness but I still think Root just

Pitch not 100% road this morning, see if it continues this way after the first hour...
Brook already has joint-most overseas centuries in Pakistan...in six innings! Overtaken Border and Gavaskar with this knock ![]() |

Brook so good he wanted it posting thrice.

Almost certain draw , only chance for a win is if England declare very soon and give themselves a chance to get Pakistan out quickly and cheaply imo
|
|
By:
certain draw, with this pakistan team
, watch them by close tonight 43-5 |
|
By:
knowing this eng team, wouldnt surprise me if they will sacrifice the chance of a win, to be the 1st side to score 1000 runs in an inngs

A Blind man Could Bat For Week On This Pitch .

id rather trust blind men than the pakistan cricketers

Pretty sure England declare after tea. Little point to declare if pitch remains flat.
Does look like they are going for runs already. Thus Brook is rather extraordinary. I really want to see him tested. Maybe next summer we shall see his mettle. Very impressed with his stamina and desire to go big rather than play Hollywood. |

Oh dear
Jamie Smith. Down the track second ball! He is a fine prospect too and another great call by Rob Key |
