Exactly what's wrong Dragon.
Fitting the 100 in mid summer has killed county and one day cricket. As a result standards all round drop. If only the ECB knew what they were doing. ![]() |
By:
indeed barstool so very short sighted
By:
Lancashire 228 all out.
Durham 367/4 at cop day 2. Another defeat looms. |
By:
the 16.4 over competition, although an absolute crock of sh1t in all aspects, has been prioritised because its the ECB cash cow
money, money, money |
By:
140 all out in 40 overs. WTF!
Somerset 41/1 12 overs. Cannot wait to get in division 2 can they? A rag bag outfit of a team. ![]() |
By:
Zumerset 113/6
All not lost. |
By:
been 3 days ... glorious weather , lancs showing some pride at last and £3 a pint for members . may all be too late but nicer than seeing a autumn washout . today we had a tribute to west indies players who came to the small lancs clubs all those years ago so calypso music drifting from the pavillion . must say young vaughan looked good , which is hardly a surprise !
By:
proper mess confirmed . but we go again . such is life .
By:
apparently jimmy is back for the 2025 county championship games . hurrah !
By:
its going to be a long old season at lancs judging by the first 2 county games . i believe there is a members forum at o. t. easter saturday . might be worth going just for that . hard hats required as a lot of quite hacked off supporters .
By:
forget jimmy ....any bowler please !!!!!!!
By:
Poor squad of players at the moment.
Going to be staying in Div 2 for a while. |
By:
Their ground is a terrible mess. Horrible place to watch Test Cricket. Playing surface is very good though. The ground itself needs a lot of money spent on it.
By:
rock bottom of div 2 now . home game v derbyshire friday . weather set fair so no chance of nicking a draw . if jimmy is back he should bat at 4 or 5 !
By:
i take it back ! every chance a draw as lancs need to take 10 wickets tom. ....jimmy looked frustrated today and got whacked by the tail .
By:
A winning draw, sort of. At least not bottom anymore.
Leicester going to be tough. |
By:
already looking ahead to blackpool barstool . if decent weather its a lovely ground with good beer regardless of lancs results !
By:
Yes nice ground, saw Blackpool T20 side lose at Rufford Monday night. It was their second X1 that play in Div 1 of the Palace Shield.
By:
An innings defeat to Leicestershire.
Only 3 players managed to get over thirty in either innings. ![]() Woeful. |
By:
its almost strangely entertaining to watch what is going on at lancs . at what stage barstool do you think those in charge there will suspect they might have to make some changes ?!! or will they just give up on the cricket totally and be happy to fill o t as a concert venue ?
By:
Probably money at the root of it. Not getting the Test matches they used to, have India this summer but have missed out on the Ashes series in 2027.
Spending a fair bit developing two new grounds at Leyland, one a grass banked oval for first class matches the other more of a training ground. Believe they have lost a lot of members (not surprising). A change at the top needed imho. |
By:
and change there is !
By:
and , erm , despite the changes ...another draw . but even by lanky 2025 standards today's afternoon session was jaw dropping . after such a fabulous start after lunch how , just how, did lancs not win this game !

Grant Stewart is the reason why Windsor, there can't be many better number nines around. He plays knocks like todays every now and then.
He announced himself to Kent supporters in 2018 by scoring a 71 ball ton batting at 10 against Middlesex, it was the fastest century in the CC that year. He put on 100 for the last wicket with Ivan Thomas who contributed ..... 1 run ! |
By:
fair enough.stewart was very impressive and well done kent for sticking at it , but you could see the all too familiar pattern with lancs failing to maintain pressure , missing half chances fielding and the panic sets in . may not win a 4 day match all season ! anderson hardly bowled which is strange ; past it or injured ?
By:
A chance to put matters right today and bag that first win.
By:
lets hope so
By:
Congratulations Captain Anderson.
A fine win. Please follow up on it. |
By:
i second that bs - run for promotion
![]() |
By:
that is the key barstool , isnt it ? will the o t pitch be one they can win on ? anyway, smashing result today .at last !
By:
Decent showing in The Blast so far.
Could do with giving the Yorkies a hiding on Thursday after their rout at Old Trafford. |
By:
Not a hiding by any means. A deserved win non the less and a home QF tie.
Good luck lads. |
By:
yup very pleasing they look a decent t20 team im on at 8/1 so hoping they can win it
also backed surrey antepost for the comp so going well so far |
By:
As a Lancastrian I think I'd be more confident with your Surrey bet as they look very useful although out can happen on the day.
By:
lancs still decent price on the outright
By:
Worst thing about going to Finals day is losing in the first semi and having to watch the three others with your side out. I think I would rather watch a best of three on finals day and have another day set aside for the for the semi's.
Think it would work and boost revenue too. Much more interested in the blast than the 100 with all my cricket mates of the same opinion. |

Watched a good game yesterday at Rufford. In a 39 over, Rain delayed (normally 45) match, Lancaster beat us by 30 odd runs. Lancaster overseas player Courtly Louw did the damage with 5 wickets, pace and movement. Fine bowler. Looks like Lancaster and Morecombe going back to the Northern league this year.
