India without Rohit...SA without Nortje... both quite big misses respectively..
Kohli and Rahane both in need of runs...Markram and Van Der Dussen looking increasingly decent red ball batsmen in an era where they can be hard to come by..
Pre series prices thin on the ground but India favoured after win in Australia and a lead/win in the incomplete England series...
1st Test @ Centurion ...early prices approx. SA 3.1 Ind 2.3 Draw 4.0
Expect the usual SA mix of bowlers on top on some lively surfaces, batsman on top when the sun comes out and live grass fades...and weather potential throughout...
could be a good 'un covid permitting...

Largely to scalp a comfortable 1.3 when a gap had appeared.

Umesh is a bit of a todger too but yes I agree with you. I might have put in Bumrah just to hang around but ashley a few scoring shots changes the complexion of the match and thinking of all the players!
I know Stokes won that Ashes Test at Headingly and the World Cup and those two innings alone particularly Headingly I will never forget

I agree re. matches won but Stokes has the game to block 4/5 every over and manipulate the end of every over...reliably.

Nudging and nurdling is extremely effective in a low scoring game. It also annoys the sheite out of the opposition.
I really am not sure. I think 200 is a good lead on this but a cracking start against attacking fields and 50 for no wicket gives confidence to the batters and doubt to the fielding team.
Also unsure why SA are allowing a single on the fifth ball of every over.

great contest..really good to see wickets that reward good bowling and where batsmen have to really apply themselves to score

Had just been typing that India have tried to control the scoring by not bowling too straight...
