Do players not see a big screen?

Stokes thinks he caught it, he won't when he sees it.

the technology isnt good enough to prove that he didnt catch it, it always makes it looks like it hit the ground, been proven a few times

To demonstrate, Tony Greig stood in a slip fielding position on the ground, back of his hand on the turf, with a ball in his palm: the resulting camera shots, those that would be used in determining such decisions, showed what some might term indisputable evidence that the ball was on the ground. Later, in England, Channel 4 went through precisely that same process, using Dermot Reeve, to precisely the same end.

it has tom' but frankly when it's sliding over grass blades in that way (as replay showed)  it would be tough at a minimum to say his hold of the catch wasn't at least aided by the ground

Now we're talking get filthy Broad off and Geoffrey on!

simple solution..all catches have to be above ground..any at ground level whether 'caught' or not are deemed non catches
saves fielders backs at the end of the day so they ain't crippled when they retireWink

It's been a bad enough day without Stokes trying to cheat a wicket. Embarrassing.

Hobbs and Sutcliffe!

Did you see that Tom?

Average 80!

Cook and Strauss average 40!

Cook does not get into my all time England Janitors Eleven!

When you take a catch like that you genuinely don't know if you have grassed it

Laugh easy when the bowlers are 40mph

Why is he bowling! He is not a swing bowler!

Get Geoffrey on! or Stokes if you want to see it swing!

Sometimes you might not know but in that instance it looked pretty obvious hence it took no time to overturn.

Broad totally convinced..well I never!

good luck bad luck. For India they are on the wrong end of it today. That's about the 5th Umpires call that went the wrong way

You have to ask what the batting coach does. England had no plan against spin!

Eng longer than they were 30 mins ago despite 2 wickets ...not sure that computes

Leach seems to have largely found some consistency at least on this tour, suspect Bess just needs a load of county work going forward to refind consistency, though home games at Headingley don't sound quite so helpful

hard to believe Stokes was a ginger baldy not so long ago.... just sayin'

With that Kohli wicket still a glimmer for England. Obviously, they will need to run through the Indian batting in the first session but if they can keep the deficit below 100 and then bat well enough (Root and Stokes will have to step up) to set 150 who knows. Imperative in that theory is that they don't bowl a lot of loose stuff.

Without wanting to appear too defeatist, we could be looking at a two day test!

You can’t be too defeatist about this performance from planning to execution.

Don’t know what 4 seamers can do that two and a half cannot.

I would have gone with Bess in Moen’s absence

Would also have stuck with Lawtence at 3 and moved Bstard to 6

good delivery..Jinks bang out of form atm..no threat whatsoever from the seamers..Leach will have to toil manfully in the broiling sun
