Yes Tom. I have some good and rich friends there. North is beautiful, mainly because you don't see many tourists and can enjoy the local lifestyle in its pure form, the kind of thing I like to do. I've never been south of Islamabad though, nothing to see(for me)
Certainly won't recommend unless you know someone there who can move you around. They are trying to change their tourism industry but not sure if they'll manage to do that. Imran Khan had the brit and dutch royal families there and they were also ranked as the top tourist destination by some american magazine. But that's all useless if the infrastructure isn't there. |

They are also very touchy about foreigners roaming the area. I knew an american girl who entered with one passport and left with another. Next time she was there her apartment was raided by the secret service and she was questioned about her intentions
