P!ssed away half my England green backing Ireland on wickets hoping for at least one reasonable partnership.
Imagine how annoyed you'd be if you'd laid them at odds approaching 100-1 on the either or both of the first two days then had to bail out not far from evens, only to see them lose anyway as predicted? |

I tell you what
England don't half get lucky with the weather! They got lucky against India last year. |

ireland lost the game after tea day 1. they needed to be batting a session on the roasting day 2. 200 lead and probably different story

Curran's brilliant cameo made a huge difference. Not only helped to get the lead to 181 but meant Ireland weren't batting in sunshine.
40-1 at the close chasing 150 and it may have been different (70 all out?!) |
|
By:
to be fair inj we did get the breaks with the weather
Ireland barring that calamity at the end put up a decent fight Long way to go but they are babies to this game and will continue to improve, hope to see them competing against the likes of Bangladesh first though and then build their way up |

Just when you think England's delusion and denial can't go deeper....
“I don’t like saying this but the wicket was substandard for a Test match,” Root, who made 2 and 32, said. “I thought it wasn’t even close to a fair contest between bat and ball throughout the whole game.” https://www.thetimes.co.uk/article/england-v-ireland-joe-root-blasts-substandard-lords-pitch-and-says-it-wasnt-a-fair-contest-ks0nbkfdm A shameful comment. |

Yes a substandard pitch where a number 11 batsman scored 92

I have a growing dislike of this England test side.

They are more lovable than England lasses but that's not saying much to put it mildly.

Even the "Greatest Ever Ashes" series was won cos of a jammy umpire decision
on the last ball of the third(?) Test and throughout by the sheer fortune of McGrath being out of action cos of a freak occurrence of stepping awkwardly on a ball. That's what did it. McGrath stepping on a cricket ball and I ain't extracting the Michael!England got the weather against India last year imho too |
