Super Over rules

The match market was voided, the super over is not included in the match market.
There was an option to back the tie as a method of covering yourself on the match market.

If you wanted to bet on the super over, you needed to do it through the outright WC winner market.

Was there a market just for the super over ?

Yes there was a Super Over market.

Settled as a Dead Heat.

Cant see anything in the rules to make it a dead heat

It was a dead heat though, 15 runs each.
England won the match due to the boundary count back but they didn't win the super over.

But the match was also a dead heat and all bets were void.

Why are bets settled differently?

I didn't even see the market so didn't see the rules.

in 50 overs plus super over.


sky had nz needing 16 to win, in the super over, which was correct,
as the tie they achieved gave victory to england

I have Betfair playing hardball saying in their rules which are at odds with super over rules  were always there has there ever been a super over before ? and punter backed or layed to the rules on tv screens (fact) so Betfair were effectively

The market probably didnt realise how betfair settled the market (I certainly didnt but will know for future)

England have been determined as match & therefore WC winners on boundary countback
this has fook all to do with the match market or super over market
both, for betting purposes, ended as a TIE
and as per betfair rules, the match market was voided & the super over market settled as a DH

if you don't like or understand the rules you really shouldn't be betting imo

Oh I shouldn’t be betting Not so bright the super over is designed to make a winner   Simples the count back is factored in ,the rules were on tv screens and Betfair prices will have reflected that  I gues you backed NZ  well done

The rules of how the world cup would be settled were on the tv screen, the rules of how the Betfair market would be settled were available on the Betfair screen.

It's always much easier just to bet on the 'winner' market once you get to semis/finals.
England won the tournament but they didn't win the super over, as per BF rules.

I had 700 green on both teams when the tie happened. For a few min i was sad that all my work has gone to waste.

Then it hit me.

I was using the outright market because i had it bookmarked on the phone.

what a mistake to make
